Aldi battery charger

Recommended Posts

Aldi are selling some very CTEC looking battery chargers for £13:99. These seem quite sophisticated and suitable for batteries up to 120 a/h. They have various charge patterns, are suitable for 24/7 connection to the battery and come with a three year guarantee.

I have one and it is re-energising a run-down gel battery of mine as this is typed. At the price, you can hardly go wrong.

Well all I can say is that I hope they have improved since 3 or 4 years ago when they where on a previous offer and I bought one.

It boiled every battery I connected it to, from small lawn mower batteries to larger starter batteries! I binned it and bought a genuine CTEK and have had no such problems since.

I would strongly recommend keeping a careful eye on it until you are certain it is functioning correctly.

Details of the product are here http://www.aldiwarranty.co.uk/pdf/1817.pdf

I don't know how good the "Auto XS" battery-charger is, but it's a lot cheaper than the same thing being advertised here http://tinyurl.com/pzs6eds

On-line comments seem to be positive and there's a longish warranty. However, I think it may no longer be availble from Aldi stores.

(Like Keith, having wasted money in the past on cheap battery-chargers that proved to be unreliable, I now have a CTEK charger.)

I bought mine yesterday in Aldi at Bromborough on the Wirral (they had lots of them in stock).
