dutchwoman
We have a Swift Sundance 13reg and one of the gas cabinet locks was playing up. My husband decided to unscrew it and there are springs inside so needless to say, it is now in bits and as I am the jigsaw expert in the house, it seems to be up to me to try to get it together again. I have no idea what make it is, but the lock pushes in and is white. I've tried googling it hoping for a link to an assembly on YouTube, but no joy. Any assistance would be great to have, Many thanks
Tracker
How about CAREFULLY taking the other one apart as a guide to what goes where !!!!
dutchwoman
I have thought of that but what if that one springs all over the place too??? I'm left with no lock on the door. ??
Will H
Then you'll have two to repair... but there do seem to be many spares offered on the net, possibly even changing them if no originals can be found.
dutchwoman
I've search for hours looking for a match to ours and no joy. If I knew the make, I might have more luck. If I have to buy new, then so be it but trying to avoid that.
BKen1
You will probably find its a ZADI lock but I doubt you will find an exploded picture to help repair it ..new one looks the answer but the price will be ridiculous and Ive not even looked .... Keithl
Hi Alice, Does it look like any of these... ? http://www.leisureshopdirect.com/default.aspx?shop=caravan&menu=home&searchtext=lock&searchcriteria=entire%20store Keith.
dutchwoman
Thanks for that, Keith, but no. I had found this page. I think it's back to the dealer and paying for a replacement. And fitting! They charge an arm and a leg and we're a couple of hundred miles away from the nearest one!
capnjaj
Do you really need a lock on your gas locker?
Tracker
capnjaj - 2015-10-25 6:36 PM Do you really need a lock on your gas locker? Yes! Unless you want to risk the inconvenience of your gas supply going awol when nobody is looking - especially if you have refillable bottles and/or leave your van in storage or unattended for long periods. Same applies to toilet cassettes, and that too would be a real inconvenience! For what little it costs to keep 'em safe why wouldn't you?
Tracker
dutchwoman - 2015-10-25 3:02 PM We have a Swift Sundance 13reg and one of the gas cabinet locks was playing up. Did it come with a three year factory warranty? If so first point of call is the supplying dealer! And if they are unhelpful second call to Swift! Brabander
Groetjes dutchwoman! I suggest you contact Swift. I had a Swift Sundance some years ago and I have found Swift to be very helpful. They sent spare parts out to me without a problem as I lived 100m from the dealer I bought the MH from. mvg
