Red Oil light is a pressure light. Yellow usually the level.

 

Either you have low pressure or a faulty switch.

 

I would advise that you take it to a Garage or replace the switch and see if it goes out.

 

I expect you are aware of the consequences of running the engine with low oil pressure.

A RED light usually means STOP so turn off the engine and call out your breakdown service.

 

It may be a simple repair such as a pressure switch but why risk damaging the engine until you know.

If you can replace the sensor and the light goes off then all is good.

 

If you cannot replace the sensor and the light is still on then I would not continue driving as there may be other problems hidden by the light already being on.

Corection on my side faulty: The sensor along the sump is oil level, not oil pressure.

Correction two: On oil of the sump in case Of DPF you have a oil level sensor on the sump. And a EOP sensor of oil pressure near the oil Pump. They have inputs inThe ECU, But have no clue what influence they have on the display.
