"Friday: Confirmed extreme-right terrorist kills 50 civilians in attacks on Christchurch mosques.

Sunday: Suspected extreme-right terrorist goes on a knife rampage against civilians in Surrey, UK.

Monday: Suspected Islamist terrorist goes on a shooting rampage against civilians in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Some people will try to equivocate between these atrocities as if one side is inherently worse than the other, but the fact is that the extreme-right fanatics and the Islamist extremists are the opposite sides of the exact same coin.

Both ideologies ferment hatred and division in order to further their own agendas, both ideologies promote and use violence, both ideologies feature hate-preaching demagogues, both ideologies dehumanise other human beings, both ideologies use "clash of civilisations" rhetoric to rile up their supporters, both ideologies consider targeting random civilians to be legitimate tactics in their "ideological war", both ideologies detest non-conformity to their warped worldviews, and both sides represent a real and present danger to ordinary peaceful civilians (especially to Muslim civilians who make up the vast majority of the victims of Islamist extremists as well as the extreme-right terrorists).

Anyone trying to make out that one side is somehow inherently worse than the other is not just ignoring the fact that the two ideologies are locked in a a symbiotic relationship of hatred and division, but they're despicably picking a favourite side in this tournament of hate when the only decent and humane stance is to vehemently condemn absolutely anyone who decides that murdering civilians is justified by their political agenda."

Far right extremism is on the rise because of ??? ... 2018 number of Islamic attacks 1976 in 56 countries killing nearly 12000 and injuring the same number

WTF is wrong with us today?

Everyone is shouting - no-one is listening. :-(

Absolutely, plus party politics now transcends any semblance of decency. Just score your cheap little point, however despicable the means used.

Wonderful to see how the people of Christchurch have responded. They stand for what used to be thought normal, human, decency. Good for them! Admirable people. Others please note and copy.

Absolutely spot on Brian and this evenings Channel 4 news report was really uplifting. Schoolchildren outside the growing memorial of flowers, wreaths, messages of love from around the world, performed a spontaneous Maori Haka.

More names and identities of those massacred by this act of pure evil is emerging as time goes on.

Australian singer songwriter John Williamson wrote some beautiful words which speaks volumes for humanity and respectful moral decency.

What have you done to Grafton, your beautiful bushy town?

Where flowers of Jacaranda are gently laying down.

Where Diggers were born and died so we could live in peace

What have you done to Grafton?

The answer to your menace, is not what you would dream

Flowers of love have blossomed. That's what the world has seen

What you're holding onto has no light, it's dark extreme

What is the mankind you in your mirror

What kind of world exists in your mind?

And what have you done to the Kiwis? Our Pacific family?

That peaceful place on earth that you shattered with your spree

You have chosen darkness and we wish it all on you

The Silver Fern won't comfort you, nor will the Kangaroo.

Next time your speaking volumes for humanity and respecting moral decency by hunting down members home addresses and spewing vile names and insults on here to those you disagree with maybe you can remember Williamsons words ... I presume your no mention of the Dutch Muslim terrorist shouting Allahu Akbar as he killed yesterday means exactly what I believe it means

and defo not not mentioned on here is trying to score a "cheap little point" then I proudly plead guilty your honour

PM Jacinda Ardern shows the world how a real statesperson and country leader responds;

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has called for a global fight to root out racist right-wing ideology.

Asked about the rise of right-wing nationalism she said: "This was an Australian citizen but that is not to say that we do not have an ideology in New Zealand that would be an affront to the majority of New Zealanders."

She said there was a responsibility "to weed it out where it exists and make sure that we never create an environment where it can flourish". "But I would make that a global call," she added.

The difference between American 'psyche' and that of a New Zealander.

Christchurch shooting: gun owners begin to hand in their weapons

New Zealanders have begun handing in their firearms to police in the wake of Friday’s mass shooting in Christchurch which resulted in the deaths of at least 50 people.

New Zealand police said that, as of Tuesday night, at least 37 firearms had been handed in to police officers around the country.

The prime minister is expected to announce changes to gun laws in the coming days, including measures such as a ban on semi-automatic rifle.

Good. There is no justification for any civilian in a western country to own a military style semi automatic rifle.

Never has been but could you imagine any American gun owner handing their arsenal of weaponry over after a mass shooting? They'd go out and buy more! *-)

Ardern’s response to Christchurch has put other leaders to shame – but not for its compassion alone

Cometh the hour, cometh the woman. Jacinda Ardern won her spurs last week with her response to the Christchurch atrocity. But the world’s praise for her eloquence and compassion missed the point.

Ardern was different. She fought from the start like a real politician, scorning the killer, attacking racism and slapping back at Turkish president Erdogan’s revolting election propaganda – which used the murderer’s own video – then hitting out at US president Trump. And insisting that New Zealand’s gun laws would change forever.

That was the measure of her. Humanity came armed with political leadership. And what a sorry lot Ardern showed our own hapless “leaders” to be.

Most of them have reacted to mass murders with instant cliches of sorrow and endless waffle about “terror”, and then operatic – and often inappropriate – praise for security forces who have in most cases failed to prevent the crime from taking place. In Christchurch, the cops appear to have driven the murderer off the road before he moved to a third mosque.

Two minutes silence throughout New Zealand tomorrow.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, community leaders, and about 30 foreign dignitaries have been invited to the event by the Muslim community to be part of the official proceedings.

Like the ladies in NZ have donned the hijab in some kind of show of respect for the massacre victims i'm just wondering if we can expect the Muslims of Nigeria , Pakistan etc to come out wearing some Christian symbol or sumat just to show how much they stand with those getting slaughtered in those countries and slaughtered almost daily ... Be nice if they did

Austrian far-right activist probed over links to Christchurch attacks

Austrian investigators raided the home of Martin Sellner, leader of a far-right group Identitarian Movement Austria (IBÖ) in connection with the investigation into the New Zealand mosque attacks. He'd posted a video claiming to have received a large donation possibly from the chief suspect in the Christchurch shootings.

Sellner, and two other far right hate mongers from US and Canada were refused entry to UK last year. Good...we don't want your type here inciting race hate. Stay in your cesspit.
