snail
Hi, the front valance/bumper has the lacquer peeling off, I know the paint is available from hymer at a very high cost and not suitable for a diy job and doesn't have a RAL paint code. Can anyone who has had this done or done it themselves with a successful match result please tell me what paint code you used the RAL number so I can get some made up. Have been to local scuff and chips places not really any help? Two paint mixers local but want me to supply a paint code, as they can't match the hymer paint they say it's a specialist powder mix colour? I do intend to paint the whole valance and the arches so a exact colour match is not neccessary, the side skirts are different anyway being just a flat grey Thanks Brian
thebishbus
I took one of my wheel arch trims into our local "Colourwerx" paint supplier, they matched it against their swatches. Came as a two pack ,metallic grey and lacquer . Brian B
Brock
My local Chips Away outfit did a match on the carerra white [Hymer colour - I had the paint code] of my current van and made a good job of repairing the scuff marks. They didn't want the paint code because they always matched to the paint on the vehicle. However, they had difficulty housing my van, only 6m long, during the work so I wonder whether other similar outfits have difficulty with motorhomes. I would also question whether outlets are interested in helping the DIY customers when the money is in doing the work. Probably the best bet is to have a proper body shop do the work. Will86
Forget any matching of the original, choose a contrasting color. Any original matching will fade differently anyway.
