The value of the pound depends on what we can make to sell abroad. It fell when Thatcher was laying waste to mining and manufacturing. Manufacturing recovered thanks to being in the EU. The much maligned British Car worker has made stunning progress under foreign management. But news of the likes of European owned PSA closing Ellesmere Port car factory due to Brexit is trashing it again. Financial forums are talking about the Bo Jo bounce.
