As for the economy ;-) .......

It appears to be flourishing dooown Souf :-D .......

........

Is that why the pound is in freefall *-)

Dropping a cent after rising a cent is now classed as free fall (lol) (lol) (lol) .........

No.

Dropping 25 cents since the referendum, thats freefall.

Richard Branson expects it to fall to parity with the $ in the event of a no-deal.

Where as the Mad Hatter says Brexit is good for our economy :D

Those of us who remember the 80s can remember when it hit almost one for one princess but yet a couple of years later it was nearing 2 for 1 ... Cant remember Brexit being around then though

No but Thatcher was. And to be fair to her that was more to do with the strength of the $ compared to other countries.

The value of the pound depends on what we can make to sell abroad. It fell when Thatcher was laying waste to mining and manufacturing. Manufacturing recovered thanks to being in the EU. The much maligned British Car worker has made stunning progress under foreign management. But news of the likes of European owned PSA closing Ellesmere Port car factory due to Brexit is trashing it again.

Financial forums are talking about the Bo Jo bounce. Because foreign investments hit another record high yesterday when measured in pounds.

Didn't you lot tell everyone getting fta's would be "the easiest in history"? And "no deal" wasn't on the ballot paper.....so it needs putting back to the electorate or revoking A50.

We haven't left yet ;-) ........It appears Trump is at the front of queue wanting to do a deal with us, which is the polar opposite to what Obama said (lol) (lol) (lol) .........

I fully expect to see a queue of countries knocking at our door after the 31st of October B-) .........

.......It appears Trump is at the front of queue wanting to do a deal with us.........

It appears Trump wants to break up the EU to weaken our negotiating position, which we have known all along, and is one of the few things Trump has been consistent about.

And Trump can't keep our just in time component deliveries flowing from the EU.

Well John 52, as 99.08% of your investment portfolio is in foreign climes, you have done well.

Only 90% in the S&P500, 10% bonds because thats what Warren Buffet advised his wife to do. But then she lives in the USA so would be invested in $ bonds.

Wheras I should have put 100% in S&P500. But like many people, I used to believe the UK would pull back from the brink before committing economic suicide by leaving the EU without a deal :-S

Why do all the usual right wing chest thumping hang em high brigade on here automatically assume that being concerned for people, ordinary people who possibly for no real fault of their own have ended up in the s**t and living in tents means your some kind of loony lefty socialist?

I watched the program. The father and son living in tents seemed decent enough to me. Under the so called "you have never had it so good" spouted above and the Tory employment figures these two are classed as being employed. Try going up to them in their tent in December and telling them everything is rosy and you have never had it so good.

Rising number of food banks, millions of people in poverty, the return of Victorian diseases like Rickets. FFS how much more evidence do you need? Its ok for Rich motorhomers to boast about how much interest they made this month on their stocks and shares (oops sorry wrong forum (lol) ) or to just call people feckless and its their own fault but we dont have to become Venezuela to start using some of our wealth to make peoples lives a bit more tolerable. We just have stop being complete c*nts and we can start with the current set that are now in the cabinet.

You happy to use a bit more of your wealth to make peoples lives a bit more tolerable Barry ??? ... Your young and retired and must have a nice wedge of cash to fund your motorhomoing lifestyle and boozing etc etc ... Tell us "Rich motorhomers" what we should , we need guidance

Yes I would be happy to pay a bit more tax or have more funds allocated to help house or care for people who have fallen on hard times. How do you think its going to go for them now there has been a far right coup and the death eaters have taken over the cabinet? If you support this current Tory party and of course Brexit your only going to make their lives worse. Far right government, ruined economy. How will that help people like them.

Despite all that is it right that in the so called fifth richest economy in the world we have people who are actually working living in tents and relying on food banks?

Do you actually know the difference between far right and right wing Barry ??? ... As for you paying a "bit more tax" to help well thats fine but you dont pay tax because ya dont work so what ya mean is your happy for others to pay "a bit more tax" to pay for your refugees , international aid and now those who've fallen on hard times while you swan around making crap music , drinking wine and lording it in the motorhome ??? ... Hypocrite Alarm Warning !!! ... As for food banks I have seen how they work many times at a Church I work on and my missus the same at the charity where she works so dont make me laugh , if idiots want to donate food that druggies and chancers and alcoholics take thats up to them ... if your so concerned do sumat decent and put some up in your home or motorhome ??? ... That'll be a no then

I Can assure you I certainly DO pay tax both on earnings and investments. In fact, if I had all the tax back Ive paid in over the years I could probably afford to buy the homeless a fecking hotel to live in!

yes there are spongers and wasters but there are also millions of people who are really struggling, people actually in work that have to rely on food banks and hand outs. A failing NHS ripe for privatisation. We keep being told on here and in the media that we have never had it so good and Britain is booming. If that is the case why are working people starving, diseases like Rickets returning and working people are living in tents? Try telling them and the millions like them everything is rosy.

All the problems you list can be blamed on those who allowed "Uncontrolled Migration" *-) ........

No it can't and we will be able to prove that shortly if you mad project of self harm goes ahead.

Let's see just how well workers rights are protected by this new bunch of Torykippers. Boris is going to have to borrow a sh1t load of money to hide the fact that Brexit has trashed the economy how far down the list will the homeless and JAMs be I wonder.

Yes it can ;-) ..........

Wages of the low paid were kept down because big business had access to cheap EU labour *-) .......

Our services are over run because of uncontrolled migration :-| .......

As for the economy ;-) .......

It appears to be flourishing dooown Souf :-D .......

Saw my first ever icecream boat arrive at our neighbours beach yesterday B-) .........

You just like the rest of the Brexit crowd have just learned nothing in three years have you? Both those statements above in bold were debunked long long ago. your still reciting the same s**te from the Daily Fail from three years ago. There is a bit of evidence that in a few areas wages for low skilled jobs were depressed but not much by immigration but all your finding and going to find as has been said a million times is your just replacing that labour with none EU immigrants. No evidence whatsoever that our services are overrun because of uncontrolled immigration. Your a lost cause.

Indeed he is.....away with the fairies, unicorns, and death cult. Brian spent endless posts some months ago trying to get through to him, all to no avail. Full article in this link here; https://bruegel.org/2017/02/questionable-immigration-claims-in-the-brexit-white-paper/

The reason Brexiteers blame immigrants for just about everything is not from their own experience but from 20 years of the likes of the Mail brainwashing them. They won't and don't look at the post Brexit evidence like that article either. They do not want to proved wrong. Probably accounts for why the swing to remain has not been as big as it should have been. Pure ignorance. That's not saying Brexiteers are thick, they are just ignorant of the facts because most of them just don't want to know. The only way sadly is probably to exit with no deal and find out the hard way.

"The reason Brexiteers blame immigrants for just about everything" ... Ive met a lot of Brexiteers Barry and I can tell ya Ive never heard any of them blame immigrants for just about everything ... I would love to see somewhere where all 17 million plus Brexiteers have said anything like that ... You need to take a look at yaself princess because if anyones "ignorant" its you , from starving yaself to death rather than doing a PORUS Trump deal to The Tories are far right to this guff ... The ignorance and much bitter hate is with you fella

You yourself the other day admitted Immigration was the "biggie" when it came to people voting for Brexit. Everyone knows it was but of course when confronted now most try and deny it, mumbling stuff about funny laws, control and sovereignty but we all know it was mainly immigration. Since then it's been proved that eu immigrants make the biggest contribution per person to our economy compared to native Brits and none eu migrants of course and they are not a drain on our services. The Toires are a drain on our services. Even the funny laws excuse had been debunked. U.K. Votes in favour of 95% of all of them and only objected to 2% which were (no surprise) clamping down on tax avoidance I think.

People are ignorant though as they refuse to read the facts like these that have been made clear "after" the referendum. Once again it's not bitterness or hate. It's just frustration that you might as well be talking to the wall.

Very true. There has been no end of reports both from msm and uk gov sites showing this but they aren't the "right" kind of facts so will ignore them wailing fake news, project fear or whatever else they can find as an excuse.

THE FISCAL IMPACT OF IMMIGRATION ON THE UK

European migrants living in the UK contribute £2,300 more to public purse each year than the average adult, suggesting a net contribution of £78,000 to the exchequer over their lifespan in the UK.

The average UK-based migrant from Europe contributed approximately £2,300 more to UK public finances in 2016/17 than the average UK adult. In comparison, each UK born adult contributed £70 less than the average, and each non-European migrant contributed over £800 less than the average.

The average European migrant arriving in the UK in 2016 will contribute £78,000 more than they take out in public services and benefits over their time spent in the UK (assuming a balanced national budget), and the average non-European migrant will make a positive net contribution of £28,000 while living here. By comparison, the average UK citizen’s net lifetime contribution in this scenario is zero.

Taken together, this means that the migrants who arrived in 2016 will make a total net positive contribution of £26.9 billion to the UK’s public finances over the entirety of their stay. The value of this to the UK’s public finances is equivalent to putting approximately 5p on income tax rates (across all marginal rate bands) in that year.

They're acolytes John. For many Brexit has become a cult which like many, never ends well. Look at Jonestown or the Waco set, both led by a charismatic leader who told the acolytes what they wanted to hear and everything on the outside was 'bad'. The Waco bunch were so far gone they even thought their leader was a "Saint"......hmm now where have we heard that before?

The trouble is I think we, the remain campaign have failed. The only ones left debating are hard core leave or remain. We have by and large failed to convince a huge majority that Brexit is a bad move. The right people are just not listening.

Watch this clip, it's just 2016 still. These people will not see or listen to the facts posted above by Bullet. https://m.facebook.com/logged_out/watch/?video_id=929642777371480&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fleedsforeurope%2Fvideos%2Fvb.917165865086037%2F929642777371480%2F&_rdr

Dunno if that link will work from my mobile.

Whilst I think it would be the democratic thing to do if we are facing no deal to let the people decide I am coming around to thinking just let it happen now. It's the only way to resolve it for ever. I just hope those that led us here are man enough to take responsibility when it all goes tits up for the uk afterwards. If there is a UK of course.

Notice a pattern in those interviewed?

"English people.......England......them that live in England should have more rights". So thats just p*ssed off all Scots, Welsh and Irish. Way to go in "uniting" a country eh? If that isn't typical Little Englander mentality i don't know what is. *-)

Notice one commented "there's too many already unemployed". Funny but a couple of rabid Brexiters on here claim employment is at a record high and everyone is in 'work'. ;-)
