Adiebt
After this weekends heavy rain and having the awning out , ( with no chance of drying it out ) , how imperative is it to unwind it out in more clement weather to dry ? Cheers !
Don636
No question surely, the awning should be unwound to dry out as soon as the weather permits.
Adiebt
The question mark at the end of the question was the real giveaway . Many thanks for the answer to my question , I’ll dry it out tomorrow .
Keithl
If you leave it wet for more than a day or so you may have great difficulty unwinding it again as the fabric basically 'welds' itself together with being wound so tight. You really need to dry it asap! Keith.

Or at least unwind it from time to time - even if you have to wind it back in again - while waiting for dry conditions. ;-)

I agree 100% with Keith; had it happen to our 'van and needed the two of us to get the awning out, one to wind and one to pull the awning (quite a hard pull)
laimeduck
ASAP is the answer! Especially if you were anywhere near trees. We have some very nice leaf impressions on our awning ( presumably from the tannins in the leaves ) can't get the stains out so just grin & bear it now. May even put more leaves in to make a pattern? Tee hee!
malc d
Slightly off topic but : A couple of years ago we came home from France at the end of September, after a long hot holiday - and didn't open the awning again for some months. When we did - a frog fell out. A very flat - dead - frog. :'(
