DanishFamily
Hello all We are a Danish family of four with kids aged 1,5 and 4,5. We are soon flying to London, from where we have booked a motorhome in advance. We want to explore England and Wales and stay at camp at sites that are suited for small children. We have booked the motorhome for 6 nights. We would be very grateful if someone could recommend camp sites for us. Our route is (roughly): London -> Cambridge -> Manchester -> Caernarfon -> Swansea -> Oxford -> London Best regards, Danish Family :-)

jumpstart
Looks like most of your time will be spent travelling . Look at Camping &caravan club app. You can stay on them without being a member.
pottypam
There aren’t many camp sites in the Manchester area. The Caravan and Motorhome Club have one at Burrs Country Park, about 11 miles from the city centre. There is a bus route close by for buses to the nearby town of Bury, from where you can take the tram to Manchester City centre. Driving and parking a MH in the city would be extremely difficult. The site is next to a park and near a river. There is a steam railway running along one side, which most children love, and there is a station from which you can get trains to Bury. There are 2 pubs, one right by the entrance which has a garden and is child friendly. The other is a short walk away and a little further on is a children’s playground. It is a Club site, as non-members you would be charged an extra £12 but the children would be free. Sorry, can’t help with the other towns. Hope you enjoy your stay and that the British weather is kind to you!
peterjl
Hi Have you looked at distances/ driving times for your itinerary? You will be spending all, your time driving and no time to see sights. Suggest you look at either north or South Wales not both. Look at the club web sites for sites Caravan and camping club Caravan and. Motorhome club. Good luck Peter

Sydney1
Hi You are definitely trying to pack in too much distance. As said above, focus on just 1 part of Wales and forget Manchester. Come back and do that with the Peak District another time This is a good site for filtered searches and reviews https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ Hope to visit your country soon Have a great holiday
colin
Hello 'danishfamily', I agree with the above, you will be trying to fit too much in and be spending all your time driving. With that in mind I'd like to suggest a itinerary which is better suited to the time you have, but need to know which airport you are coming in on and which motorhome depot you are hiring from (London-Luton & Just Go?), and do you want to visit London itself? aandy
The route as planned comes out a bit under 700 miles, so an average of around 2.5-3 hours travelling each day. We all have different ideas as to how much driving is too much, but that's not really excessive.
DanishFamily
Thank you so much for all the replies, they really helped us. We are sticking to the described route, though. As aandy mentioned, it's not more than 3 hours a day, and since the kids are probably going to stay up late during the evenings, them napping for a couple of hours in the motorhome will work wonders for daddy's stress levels :D
