number9
I have a Smev 4 ring burner and the paint around the edge of the lid is a bit chipped. I'm just wondering what's the best way - and paint/materials needed - to repaint it to give a smooth, as new finish. thanks,.
Will86
Its doubtful if painting will give a 'smooth' finish as you suggest, you say its chipped, that word alone describes the original material as very hard, as paint dries it follows the contours of whatever its on, meaning its not going to be 'smooth'. Are there no spares available ?

Are there no spares available ? The glass lid has a metal frame. The original paint has worn off in places.
Will86
My reply was based on your question and you said it was "Chipped" Rubbed off is not the same.
Keithl
If it is only 'rubbed off' in places and still generally smooth then mask off around the glass and spray with a heat resistant paint. The sort of paint you would use on car exhausts or brakes may well be suitable. Try Halfords or a car accessory shop and ask what may be suitable. Keith.
