"Who needs trade with the EU"

Exactly ;-) .........

There are another 165 countries in the world B-) ........

How many countries has Johnson negotiated new trade deals with?

Almost 24 hours later and Pelmet still stuck for an answer. :-|

Yes odd that isnt it?

I believe we were told that a raft of new trade deals would be ready to go when we left.

All lined up they were supposed to be for when we left. What have we got so far Dave? Maybe you missed the question.

Oh he saw the question......but it's too embarrassing to answer so he's avoided it. He'll post his silly cartoon with a 'snigger' as an 'answer'.

I'll have to answer it for him

What have we got so far

Well from our closest Ally

No chance of a trade deal

.. and now the Tories have taken to slagging him off on Twitter

All so BoJo can tear up an international treaty he signed

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/sep/17/angry-tory-mps-reject-joe-biden-comments-uk-eu-brexit-talks

As I recall, the last European populist right winger who pretended to be a bit of a socialist to win an election with a minority of the votes, and then started tearing up international treaties, was Adolf Hitler :-|

.....Builders, Plumbers, electricians are all up their necks in work.........even the Chimney sweep said his first appointment available was December 8-) ........

Because half of them have gone back to Poland, and the other half - well why work when you can furlough

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8739017/OECD-optimistic-UK-year-warns-second-Covid-wave.html

So the UK is recovering quicker than expected according to your link

Which says something about their confidence in BoJo

Because UK is already the worst in Europe

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-08-12/u-k-has-worst-economic-slump-in-europe-with-20-4-contraction

So how much worse did they expect BoJo to be?

Given that we are one of the G7 economies, then its pretty bleedin obvious that our slump will be big coz our economy is big ;-) ..........

BTW we are are already out off recession B-) ..........

UK GDP grew by 6.6% in July 2020

https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/grossdomesticproductgdp/bulletins/gdpmonthlyestimateuk/july2020

That'll be down to all that Furlough Dough being spent in the UK >:-) .........

Oh dear *-)

change is expressed as a percentage so the size of the economy makes no difference

Of course GDP rose when businesses reopened after the lockdown

Even so, we are still the worst in Europe

Which your link says is better than expected

So how much worse than the worst in Europe did thy expect BoJo to be?

So your Loser expectations are not as bad as You'd hoped >:-) ........

That was the benefit of remaining in the EU. Deals are not done in an afternoon like one of your Brexit clot-heads claimed. As you found you couldn't come up with anything other than one country you're now cooing about yet is it any better to the one we had when in the EU? Not really.

"There's no great evidence that having these different digital provisions is going to make a huge difference ... it's fine, it's good but it's nothing major," he said.

"It's something they (the UK government) can do that is different to the EU, but the evidence of it making a great amount of difference is not high."

You failed to produce any countries your Dear Leader had negotiated new trade deals with for starters. All you could come up with was one country. It's embarrassing. From once being one of the most respected countries in the world your lot have turned it into a Brexit banana state after spaffing billions of taxpayers money up the wall on useless projects and filling their wealthy Tory donor chums with backhanders.

What failings? ;-) ........

Snigger.......

The deal with Japan isnt "Done" just like Brexit was never "done". They have simply agreed in principle a roll over deal for what we have already via the EU. It is all yet to be signed and it sounds like we are contradicting ourselves with Japan over the State aid rules. I think a few more roll overs have been agreed but not many.

Truth is, our biggest trading partners are the EU and the USA. We are putting both in severe jeopardy. Roll over deals were signed with African countries and places like Australia, New Zealand and Canada have expressed interest, as has India as long as they get free movement of people 8-) . The entire continent of Africa's economy is less than that of France. The others are no great hill of beans either.

Face facts. Unless you have the EU and USA on board we are basically fecked.

BORIS JOHNSON has welcomed Japan's new Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga while reminding him of the "historic Free Trade Agreement" his nation has ***signed with the UK.***

Do you not read your own links?

"The UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement was agreed in principle by Ms Truss and Japan's foreign minister, Motegi Toshimitsu, in a video call on Friday morning.

Negotiations began in June - with most talks happening remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A final text of the agreement is likely to be published in October!"

There is no trade deal yet just a political agreement in principle. Its not even news in Japan or on their governments website.

It should be easy to do though as its just a roll over deal from the one we had with Japan via the EU. However the deal with Japan commits us to tougher restrictions on state aid than the ones we are currently offering the EU in the Brexit talks, potentially undermining our negotiating position with Brussels.

Its just another distraction bigged up by Johnson and the Express. The two trade deals we really need are with the EU and the USA (good luck with that), and Johnson is putting both in jeopardy.

He never gets beyond the header or strapline. Word bubbles and tweets are his limit, preferably with lots of pictures.
