"Phil the Greek" has a nasty stench of racism about that comment ... Imagine Lammy the Guyanese or Sadiq the Muslim??? ... Not very nice and surprising the squad havent jumped all over that comment, not ... Nice to see the forums right wing contributors seem to be more accepting to Greeks and Germans while our left leaning members seem to take issue with our fellow Europeans ... Lordy, so much hate Indeed "Phil the Greek" was more British than any of the LOONY LEFTY LOSER SURRENDER MONKEYS that were born here :-| ........ And there in lies the problem, with a crony cast that makes up the House of Lords, a voting system that leaves the majority of the electorate unrepresented and a unwritten constitution you have all the pieces for a elected dictatorship. One needs only to look at the lack of action when our PM lied to the Head of State over the prorogation of Parliament, if we lived in a functioning democracy he would have been out of office and lived the rest of his life in shame. That the Head of State is powerless in such a situation speaks volumes.

CurtainRaiser
"Today MPs are holding an 8 hour marathon of fawning sycophancy for Prince Philip, with absolutely no other parliamentary business on the schedule. These are the same people who only allocated 5 hours worth of debate on Boris Johnson's shambolic Brexit bodge, before hastily rushing the flawed legislation through as fast as possible. The death of a 99-year old man gets far more parliamentary scrutiny than the legislation that's not only going to shape the entire future of the UK economy, but which also created a border down the Irish Sea between Northern Ireland and Great Britain. The Westminster political system is utterly dysfunctional, and the UK will continue its long decline as long as such a pompous, unrepresentative, elitist, and ridiculously archaic system avoids modernisation."
