Interesting especially as Stellantis have just announced investment in the Ellesmere Port Factory to produce Electric Vans.

Perhaps a UK built base vehicle will become the vehicle of choice for UK LV builders in the future.

I am not at all sure that in the longer term Stellantis will want or need to build vans at more than one factory in Europe and continue to market them under multiple badge engineered brands, bearing in mind that cost cutting leading to greater profits is the main point of mergers?

For now they seem happy to let each brand stand or fall on it's own merits but longer term they might wish to create a new 'van brand' or capitalise on the dominant van brand or revive one of the unused brand names they probably already have within the group?

...welcome back, Bedford CF.... :-)

Memories!! Did quite a few miles in several CFs - 2.0 and 2.3 - always managed to avoid the dreadful diesels - and CAs - now they were an experience!!

Commer? Simca?
