Eldiss Autoquest 115 - mains hookup

Recommended Posts

Picked this van up last week. Have it plugged into the mains (16amp). Having a test run before a trip.

Sockets (230v) not working at all. On the main switch board have master on. Tried aux and veh and still dead.

Whale space heater and water heater don't seem to be working either....

Are there any switches I have missed?

I think the Main switch you are referring to with Aux and Veh will be the 12 volt master and not the 230 volt master. You need to keep looking for more switches.

Can you possibly call the previous owner or dealer depending where you bought it?

Keith.

Elddis began to use the "Autoquest 115" model identifier as early as 2006.

There are online Elddis handbooks for 2015-2020 motorhomes and caravans, but - where 230V electricity is concerned - there is not much difference between the guidance in the 2020 handbook and that given in the 2012 version Steve has provided a link to.

In a 10 March 2022 posting InvictaMoto said "...we are novices and have bought our first two-berth motorhome..."

The present problem may (as suggested) be simply due to a RCD or MCB switch being in the Off position, but one would need to be aware of that possibility - and know about RCDs and MCBs and where they are in the vehicle - to troubleshoot the issue.

This YouTube video relates to a handover for a 2012-registered Elddis Autoquest 115 and may be helpful. Advice on electricity (12V and 230V) is in the 7 to 9 minutes section.

For a novice motorhome owner the late-John Wickersham's book "Motorcaravan Manual: Choosing, Using and Maintaining Your Motorcaravan" would be a very worthwhile investment. (Sample advert here)
