peterjl Posted February 3, 2023 Share Posted February 3, 2023 Made it to France, with our dogs, for first time since 2020 and planned to stop at Le Touquet Aire overnight after walking dogs on beach. Well the best made plans………. as we approached the town my concern was prompted by motorhomes parked all along the road side and the nearer the Aire we travelled the more motorhomes and hundreds of motorbikes. Turns out it’s the. 37 th edition of a motorcycle beach race over the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Google says there are 400,000 spectators and I reckon they all turned up with their motorhomes. we are now at an Aire in Berkeley, more than 14 miles by road and there are motorhomes here with motorbikes on trailers. the moral of this story is, when making plans on where to stay check out for local events…..
