Bollards - body work repair needed

I would like to be writing to offer sage advice, but instead I am writing as the twit that creased the side of the van on a supermarket bollard.  I am sure I am not alone, but feeling really stupid.

The van is a Knaus Boxstar Street 2021.  The damage will need panel work so a good proportion of the interior may need to be removed to allow for welding.

I will call through the list of Knaus dealers to see if they have any recommendation - but does anyone on the forum have a recommendation of a repair shop for the East of England?

Depends what part of East of England, however I can completely recommend

As the best bodywork repairs I have seen. They dealt with fleet panel vans last time I used them and the work carried out for me was superb.

They also repaired a friend's BMW that he was told would need a new front wing and passenger door at a cost in excess of £1500, after a van in France reversed into the side of him for less than half that cost using traditional panel beating methods. The repair is completely undetectable.

Thank you to all,

I am insured with Caravan Guard and like you, I thought they would recommend a repair shop, but no, I was surprised to find that they do not make recommendations.

Given the damage, the removal and putting back of the interior is almost more important to get right than the panels - i.e. it needs a motorhome specialist.  I will go to Knaus dealers in the morning and also contact Brownhills in Newark.

Thank you all, so far..

Our old VW looked like that on both sides when we got it, a previous driver had tried to fit between a bollard and house! Aside from making sure any bare metal was painted we left it alone, works wonders for getting through traffic in London.

Hi. I had a similar scrape with a bollard 5 years ago albeit a bit further back nearer rear wheel arch. I was in Spain at the time, emailed a picture to where I had purchased the Moho, SMC Newark, had a quote back I was happy with and they completed an excellent job after I arrived home 3 months later.

the cost was such that I did not need to claim.

as Newark is a long way away I drove it up and hired a small car to get home and back.
