Excel duo
We had a leak under bathroom basin tap which has rotted the plastic round the tap and now the hole for the tap is much bigger than it should be. A replacement is no longer available for our 2011 Auto Trail Excel bathroom unit, the wash basin is attached to a plastic pedestal which is in the shower cubicle. Anyone had a similar problem or have any idea if we could get the whole repaired. So far we have not found a basin that is the same size and shape, even if we could get the old one off without damaging the base it looks to be very well attached. We have tried a couple of shower tray repairers with no luck. Tried Auto Trail for advice and they were no help.
Labby
Have a look at www.caravanpanels.com to see if they have the sink you need or Dereck Justice at GRP leisure , Derby , 01332 600825 should be able to make one for you using yours as a pattern , if he does not already have one. Fred Duck
Another vote for Caravan Panels above. We needed a replacement wash hand basin for our 2010 Bessacarr and whilst they were available to order from Swift with a long delivery estimate, the cost was going to be around £1800 when VAT etc. was taken into account - and it would be in the same, thin, moulded plastic as the failed original. Caravan panels had what we wanted in much more robust fibre glass and charged us £130 inc. VAT and next day delivery. I fitted in an afternoon and not only is it much more robust than the poor quality original, it looks so much smarter as well. No connections other than a very satisfied customer. Excel duo
That sounds interesting, had not heard of either of these companies before and we only live 15 miles from Derby. We are hoping our Mobile Service Man will be back from his holidays next week, so he may have heard of them. I shall look them up in the meantime. New parts are always expensive, don't know why as there are plenty of caravans and motorhomes about now. The new tap is over £100 as it is one with a retractable shower hose, just a tap would be quite cheap, I suppose we are lucky it has lasted 12 years.
