Mick H.
howie - 2007-08-28 7:20 PM Victor Meldrew - 2007-08-28 4:38 PM With an ever growing membership, do you think the time has come for us to have some form of selection process whereby we would be able to ascertain the suitability of prospective members before allowing them to join? I’d like to propose that prospective members (I suggest we refer them ‘dirty wannabes‘) complete a simple questionnaire detailing their background i.e. criminal record, class, weight, sexual orientation, drug/alcohol dependency etc. plus they should be able to provide two references, one from another forum and one from a professional body such as the association of hairdressers for female members or the association of managers for male members. Surely a system such as this would cut down on the amount of nonsense posts that seem to be littering these forums. Interesting idea Frank. Tongue in cheek perhaps, but to your way of thinking closer to the truth than you might care to admit. Discrimination against those of us that fail to match your own impeccable level of intellect and good taste perhaps ?, or just another example of that sneering contempt and total disregard of any offence you may cause that comes so easily to many of your postings. The heading for this forum is "Chatterbox", and while there have been many serious threads to follow, engage in and enjoy, I see nothing wrong what so ever in enjoying a little bit of "nonsense" with others of a like mind. Has it ever occured to you that for many of us life itself is enough of a serious business, and that this forum is just a small outlet where we can put all that to one side and simply enjoy ourselves, or is that in itself to much for you to understand. If serious discussion is what you look for then by all means we all welcome your thoughts and opinions regardless of the subject matter, and even though I find most of your postings to be of a completely negative nature, you do have my utmost support in your right to post them. Speaking only for myself I would like to think that at least some of my postings have been of interest to other users. Smoking, air con, glasses, technical questions etc., all have expanded my knowledge, and hopefully others. We all have the right to express ourselves in whatever way we wish, as long as no offence is caused intentionally or otherwise of course, and I would ask you to extend the same courtesy to others. Not to your liking? then simply pass it by. It really is as easy as that. Unless of course putting others down is what its all about. ARE YOU READING THIS CARAPROF. Mick H. michele
Mick , I think you will find that poor Frank is getting the blame for everything . Its not Franks style he is not Victor Meldrew he did not write that I think that you may find TC is the Victor avatar ...Frank is Caraprof and is not hiding from anyone . ;-)
Old Git
I wonder if Frank would get quite so much stick if he changed his avatar to a fluffy bunny?? Not that I'm suggesting he should, but there would be a lot less flak and aggro if some people would read the posts a bit more carefully and stop looking for an excuse to have a snipe at somebody. I know I'm new here, but I thought this was a forum for adults.

the tortoise
I find it slightly disturbing that people can register to speak on this forum and subsequently abuse completely innocent others. Perhaps 'Victor Meldrew' could take up a less aggressive attitude and just join in the comeraderie offered by the rest of the good people here? the tortoise
Oh dear, was that the general consensus? I like to think that sometimes I talk sense, but as a professional analyser of people, perhaps I appear pompous to some. I will try to loosen up a bit (lol) (lol)
michele
Oh good me and you can be friends then ? Tell me is that your real picture ? Are you gay I hope you dont mind me asking tell me all about yourself oh and the others of course. I ask because I thought that you had mentioned it before wasn't sure if it was you hope not to offend . Still in your job you must be used to not being offended with all that lay on the couch stuff and analyse this & that you must be used to it . I hope i,m not digging to deep (am I) what type of camper do you have how old are you and what did you do in Spain. ;-) Nosey cow arent I :D
the tortoise
Ok, Michele, I can see that you are a straight forward type of person! I have a very beat-up old VW that I won in a bet. Still goes, but only just, so I guess I can call myself a motorhome-owner. As you may know from previous posts, I am a psychologist specialising in relationships and my sexual orientation should not be a barrier to people talking to me, so I will pass on that question if you don't mind. In Spain I worked with ex-pats who have problems with relationships, particularly those who had 'started a new life' to try and solve their problems. Sadly moving to Spain was often not the 'El Dorado' they had envisaged. Hopefully I have spread a little happiness on my travels though. Sorry, I forgot the smiley (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol)
michele
yes I like to be straight then you know where you are don't you think that its a trait that many people don't have ? they smile to your face and stab you in the back . I wont I will spit in your face and then tell you I,m gonna stab you after :D its clear that way ..... ok you seem to have loads of money must be a very good paid job my friend a doctor and also another who is a PIT earn very good money they are members of the cougar club by the way no hang ups at this end :D We often go out to the west end unfortunately I can not keep up with their drinking I like champagne but I,m not to keen on verve cliquot I prefer Nicolas Feuillatte much nicer or piper hydsick ? not sure of the spelling ...Your Motorhome sounds wonderful does it have a color?. the tortoise
Yes, Michele, you are obviously a very discerning woman! I prefer Cava Reserva myself, a little less pretentious than Champagne. My 'van is a light-red colour, why do you ask?
michele
I just though that it may be a lighter colour .There is one parked over the road its a splitty just making sure you are not stalking me or my husband :D only jesting No reason for asking just being nosey .Tell me what do you think of the cougar club its a little like the secret wifes club without the secrets. Unless of course you make one you want to keep!
Mel B
Now then, why don't you two just go and get a nice little room and Michele can find out if you're gay or not! (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol) Seriously though, it's nice to be able to have a bit of fun without people taking offence ain't it. :->
the tortoise
I'm not familiar with the cougar club - is it in the UK or Spain? I'm not sure if I feel entirely comfortable with the idea that you might be propositioning me, or am I reading the signals wrongly? It is so difficult not being able to see your face as you 'speak'. May I say that in your profile photograph you bear a striking resemblance to Olivia Newton John? Is that really you?
