The wave of alt-right neo-fascist euphoria will be short lived and end in tears.

Over the past three days i've viewed a three part series of documentary screened by BBC2 last year about the insane manic rantings of a madman whipping up his sycophantic followers who hung on his every word. The similarities are remarkable of how easily the meek and misguided were led down the path of destruction.

Part 1; http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5sii4w

Part 2; http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5sii4x

Part 3; http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5sm7ni

I often wondered how a nation could have been so stupid to have followed someone like Hitler and how it could never possibly happen again but I can see now how easy it could. Maybe with the best of intentions on the part of the public. All it takes is something like a really bad economic crash or say a huge migrant crisis and for a few nations to start buckling under the pressure and out of the mist comes someone that offers the masses a magical answer to all their woes. Its whats happened here with Brexit, the US with Trump and with the far Right parties in Europe. They jump on stuff like this like a tramp on chips and people will follow them.

The trouble starts once they gain power and the gloves are off. Then if it turns out you really do have a mad man at the helm its all too late. Im not saying there is anyone working their way up from the far right thats as mad as Hitler but how do you know?

No good will come from any of them gaining power. I guarantee it.

Most of them were spellbound......but not all. Some German people saw through his manic rantings and bumptious grandiosity. Watch his public speeches to see what i mean, his body language, his stance. Goebbels and Mussolini both styled themselves on 'their' Führer.

It's well worth reading up on Sophie Scholl and the White Rose movement. Virtually unheard of in UK she's revered as a true heroine in Germany today with many schools and streets named in her honour. I only learned about her through one of my German friends.

A movie was made about her. I bought the dvd which is only available in German with English sub-titles. Her story is chilling viewing from beginning to end and not for the faint hearted but in my opinion essential viewing. I still watch it many times.

The full movie is on YouTube.

You mean like the hopeless predictions or lies the Governor of the Bank of England apologised over ??? ... A lie is a lie just as a prediction is a prediction ... Difference is Brian I can grasp that both sides lied whereas those on the Remain side believe it was all one way traffic

Listen up and learn something for a change away from your limited Beano picture books.

Dailymotion is purely a video sharing platform in the same way as iPlayer, On Demand etc. Had you have watched any one of those episodes you would have seen the BBC copyright credits.....BIG clue as to who originally screened it.

antony1969 - 2018-03-06 7:00 AM....................Why can't that red bus "lie" have been a prediction like the predictions Remain made that have been proved to be wrong already ??? ... .....................

Because the bus lie was not a prediction. It was the result of taking the crude cost of our contribution to the EU, failing to deduct the money we get back from the EU, and dividing it by 52. I disagree Antony. A forecast is what it is. It takes historic data and projects it forward in time against a number of assumptions to give a forward view. If the assumptions change, the outcome changes. They are not predictions (a la Mystic Meg), they are forecasts i.e. a casting forward from the present. A forecast can only become a lie if it is deliberately distorted to show a false picture. Forecasts can be wrong for all sorts of reasons, but being genuinely mistaken is not the same as lying.

The bus lie was just that. It knowingly took an inaccurate figure, divided that by 52 with no regard for the other demands that were to be made upon it, and then published it to make the most publicly appealing claim possible, while knowing it was arithmetically wrong. Dress it up how you may, that is a lie. Something that is known to be wrong but is, nevertheless, publicised. How could it be otherwise.

Oh Jesus please ... Give up ... Your boyfriend posts stuff cos he knows your just about the only dummy that 'll follow it up ... Try to stand on your own 2 feet ... It wouldn't be so funny if you and Bulletgay didn't defend the most vilest , bigoted , racist sect in history that brings more misery throughout the world than any right wing nonsense ... What a load a cobblers

Who?, The BNP? EDL? Britain First? That mad French bint? There are so many to choose from but I dont remember defending any of them.

So by agreeing with what someone posts it means I am incapable of standing on my own two feet then? Thats funny coming from someone who was part of a bunch of 17 million people who fell for the biggest con in political history. LOL (^)

What misery do those you've named bring Barry compared to the religion of peace ???

What misery did Hitler bring before he got into Power? Who knows what these people have in mind or what actual real power might do to them?

As you know though I dont support extremists from any political or religious stance though.

Im not on about religious extremism Barry it's the religion in general ... Your Hitler line is pathetic ... When you have nothing else left you babble on about Hitler trying to link him with right wing politicians ... He's probably got more in common with Corbyn

Exactly ;-) ..........The Labour/Communist party is stuffed to the gunnels with antisemitic's, which Comrade Corbyn refuses to do anything about, apart from slapping their wrists occasionally >:-) .........

It's only a matter of time before red Ken will rejoin the ranks ;-) ..........

I also note Comrade Corbyn now has the full backing of the UK Communist party........no surprise there eh? *-)...........

So you wont be voting for Corbyn the Commie? ;-) ..........

Well, Brexit and the current state of the Tory party have made people like me politically homeless. I happen to think our local Labour MP Helen Goodman is a superb example of a genuine stateswoman and I Would back her in a heartbeat. Jury is still out for Corbyn to be honest but the anti's are probably just turning more people towards him with the constant diatribe of fake news and ridiculous slurs like the recent Spy bollox. I do not consider him an extremist and please dont start posting a load of Daily Mail links with exciting titles like "Jeremy Corbyn linked to Soviet plot to poison Tory party" or something. "Jeremy Corbyn ate my Hamster". "Jeremy corbyn wears ladies panties" etc.

I didn't want to include The Donald as Antony has his own 200 page shrine thread all dedicated to him. Im not totally heartless.

He hasn't paid homage for the past week.......looks like the love flame is on the wane. He got bored of hearing his own voice in that little echo chamber he'd created.

Yet you pay homage to someone who may be our Home Secretary...

Amber Rudd is Home Secretary so i've no idea why you link to to a tweet from a British Nationalist. :-S

Except it's more relevant to the rise of far right extremism today......and no matter how you attempt to skew and spin that it's totally not what Corbyn or Labour stand for which is why you despise him so much and embrace the former......your fawning admiration of Le Pen, Wilders, Trump et al is well known.
