You can only have a proper civil war when there are two clearly defined sides - with equally clearly defined agendas.

At the moment we have 600 MPs with 500 different ideas about what should happen next - and a population who are even more divided.

Under those circumstances - who would fight who, and for what ?

;-)

There are two clearly defined sides ;-) .........

You whinging antidemocratic Remoaners and Us Heroic Democratic Brexiteers :D ........

How I can I be an " antidemocratic Remoaner " when you keep accusing me of being " on the fence '

They still managed to come back with no majority though just when they needed it after Corbyn was miles behind in the polls. If they had not had that election in 2017 we would have left the EU yesterday, 100%.

The only thing that might save the Tories now is Corbyn as I think he has lost that popularity he gained in 2017 but the Tories are now universally hated by people like me (Least this new Tory party thats been driven by ERG fruitloops) and they are going to suffer for Brexit for sure whichever way it goes now. Labour should dump Corbyn, move back towards the centre and put someone like Keir in charge.

My take on it is ;-) ......

Us Hoi Polloi thought at that time Brexit was a done deal :-| ......BUT......

You Remoaners had a problem with democracy *-) ........

So now we are where we are >:-) ........

Do you really want civil war? 8-) ......

It's been uncivil enough on this microcosm of UK websites ;-) .......

The Remoaner inability to accept a democratic result has deffo stoked a lot of anger >:-( .......

We do not have a problem with democracy Dave. We are exercising our democratic right to campaign to remain in the EU. We accept the result of the referendum but we think its actually a crap idea so will campaign to persuade people that it is. That is all.

A civil War? FFS! (lol) A few hundred Tommy Robinson supporters is not a civil war. Its just a bunch of hooligans that if they were not angry about Brexit they would find something else to rant about. Blimey! The country is shaking in their boots. Not!

Turns out I was wrong about Corbyn. Be afraid! Be very afraid!! Oh dear. :'( https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6868745/Jeremy-Corbyn-PM-calls-election-shock-poll-reveals-Labour-five-point-lead.html

I hope it happens. :D

Jeremy hates the EU and will find a way to get us out. ;-)

Never have been on the fence.

If you were into reading long sentences - or even paragraphs - you would already know that from my previous posts.

But, as I have never complained about the result of the referendum, I don't accept your label of " remoaner "

I am also not opposed to everyone being allowed to vote - so I'm not anti-democratic either

I agree he will and does. I was laughed at on here though for saying yonks ago there "could" be a Corbyn government before Brexit is delivered. Seems an increasing possibility now. If they do get into government then we can start the entire shambles again only this time Labour will end up with a complete Brexit in name only deal with everything we have now as members just no seat at the table and to top it off Diane Abbot in charge of the nations security and Corbyn in charge of our economy. Good luck with that. Comrade.

Afraid of what? :-|

Well there are some on here that would consider a Corbyn led government so horrific I fear they might actually explode in horror if it happened. Dave I think would probably walk off into the Sea with his knotted hankie on his head and never be heard of again. Which would be sad as I would miss his daily (sorry hourly) contributions to the legendary Chatterbox.

I am not so bothered to be honest myself although I feel Corbyn has let the side down as far as Brexit is concerned because 747 is correct, I think he is a Brexiteer. His political leaning is way too left for me also but there are some good people in his party but a lot of dire ones as well.

I would like to see some brand new parties emerge from all of this and gain ground although with our current system I don't know if that is achievable. Can Labour do worse than the Tories? Blimey they would have to try hard.

I think you will find that it was myself who first put forward the hypothesis that the shambolic Brexit negotiations would favour a Labour Government under Corbyn. When the 'snowbirds' were weeping and wailing about an end to their jollies in Europe, I reminded them that all their noisy protestations could undermine the Tories, making it a walkover for Labour.

I wonder what the polls would show if Boris was PM? B-) .......

You can dress up a goose-stepping gobs**te in any kind of suit you like. You can ruffle up their blonde hair, send them to a public school, stick a monocle in their eye, or give them a permanent seat on Question Time. It makes no difference. Blackshirt means blackshirt.

First of the Traitors?

IMO Grieve should be following the wishes of his constituents, as they voted remain he is a traitor if he backs Brexit. ;-)

Are you sure?.....Cant find Beaconsfield listed separately :-S .....

They voted Leave Colin but more importantly by an extremely narrow margin of just 570 out of 40755 votes, but that was almost three years ago and as we all know including Brexiteers (though they wouldn't ever admit it), many have changed their minds and come to their senses since seeing the huge damage Brexit has done to the country.

Even funnier that you're never able to back any of that up with anything credible isn't it? Seeing as you don't leave that old tub most days, how many Brit immigrants to Spain who went there to live (unlike you) have you asked? Please explain why those allowed a vote would vote to ruin their retired life they'd planned so long for in Spain. Tell me how they would benefit from voting for a country to exit the EU, a country they've already exited from, to live permanently in an EU country.

They aren't expats. They are immigrants who moved to live there for a better lifestyle hence the reason you couldn't answer the questions i put to you. And don't give me that bullcrap you voted for 'your country', because if genuinely so patriotic you'd remain in this country continually supporting its economy instead of running off to Spain half the year using every trick in the book you can find to overstay. Your rank hypocrisy is blatant and you've been continually boastful about it.

Of course they're migrants and how wanting to improve ones lifestyle legitimately could be deemed 'selfish' i've no idea. I wouldn't expect you to understand that though.

Your confusing me with selfish expats who voted for themselves.....Not their country *-) ........

Well if they're immigrants then they truly are selfish *-) .........

Of course they're migrants and how wanting to improve ones lifestyle legitimately could be deemed 'selfish' i've no idea. I wouldn't expect you to understand that though.

Why should someone who has migrated from the UK have an vote on what happens in the UK?........

That's what seems more than a tad selfish to me *-) ..........
