Singapore has FTA's with the EU....that's why. Same as we had but threw down the pan over Brexit. https://www.mti.gov.sg/Improving-Trade/Free-Trade-Agreements/EUSFTA Free trade with the rest of the world. The Eu has quite restrictive trade practices. How is it when we trade with many countries outside Europe? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_trading_partners_of_United_Kingdom Not sure what agreements we have with each, but the fta's Brexit has put at risk with EU are the reason many companies that were once here, have now left. Even the most staunch pro-Brexiter, Dyson, has no intention of returning here as by staying in Singapore his fta's are guaranteed. If you listened to Professor Patric Milford he explains quite well the benefits this country would have with a free trade economy, and being unshackled from the Eu. Barryd999
Patrick Minford is an idiot and also one of the payrolled "economists for brexit". It was him who admitted manufacturing and automotive would be finished but acceptable losses for Brexit and all those workers could become graphic designers or marketing people. Ferkin ell. I bet all the fitters at Honda and Nissan will look forward to that. :(

Yeah it gets shut of thousands of workers and closes major industries down as he openly admitted government had on two previous occasions. Btw where and what are these "shackles" you speak of? UK certainly had one of the most unfettered relationships with the EU having continually cherry picked over the years. All the rubbish about "taking back control" we know was exactly that, rubbish, as had we observed EU rules rather than ignored them, our immigration figure would have been lower but it suited successive UK governments to ignore the EU rulings. Up to now about the only 'achievement' of Brexit has been to get the colour on UK passports changed back to pre-EU times.......yet we never needed to leave EU for that,

So it seems to me there are two sets of lies...the ones you believe ...and the one Brexiteers believe....which is all immaterial as we are leaving one way or the other....if you think it all looks bad I suggest you jump on the next ship and join the Eu one which is sinking.
