StuartO - 2020-04-11 10:29 AMlooks like Boris was quite seriously ill for a while, even though he didn't need a ventilator. It certainly sounds like he need Intensive Care.
Certainly more ill than we were told by the Downng Street Press Conference 2 hours earlierUnderstating his condition enabled him to retain his powers, but what would we have done if we had needed them urgently when he was not contactable?

You don't know that though, do you?

I think its understandable that Downing St would want to avoid causing alarm so they played his illness down, without telling any lies.  I'm confident that there are well rehearsed procedures for transfer of PM's authority; for example these will have to cater for a situation in which a PM suddenly dies and the secret codes for launching a nuclear missile attack need re-setting, so they can't leave that sort of thing dangling, can they?  It's not necessary for the details of how its done to be in the public domain.

It's only in reprospect we can deduce that Boris was quite ill for a few days, even though he didn't quite get to needing artificial ventilation.

I'm sure we will have to wait for the history books to tell us how ill he was.Because his symptoms were hanging around for a long time he was taken into hospital. We were then told that " as a precaution " he was moved into an intensive care unit - but whether he ever received / or needed intensive care we will never know. We just got daily briefings that he was comfortable / in goods spirits / still involved in government - but who knows how much of that is spin ?Any prime minister is certainly not indispensable. I seem to recall that, when Churchill was PM - after the war - he had a stroke or heart attack ( or something similar ) and the government was taken over by someone else for a time - and the public didn't even hear about it until years later. :-|

our Labour supporting union boss

who is your Labour supporting union boss?

The one who publicly wished Boris dead with the China Virus

Without a link or even a name how can I know who you are talking about?

The only one I heard of was suspended immediately so he isn't a union boss as you stated

Either way why do you keep changing the subject?

Is an ex leader of the oppoition or ex union member more important than the current Prime Minister?

Just ignore his daft trolling. Both the President and General Sec of the RMT have openly condemned his actions and publicly stated, “Steve Hedley’s comments do not represent the views of this trade union and are wholly unacceptable.” But thats not enough for Brainless who, if it involved a Torykipper politician would be screeching, "has he been found guilty yet"?

Guardian has done a comparison between what we now know of BoJo's illness, and the sh*te we were being told at the Downing Street Press Briefings: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/17/boris-johnson-and-coronavirus-inside-story-illness

Shame on The Guardian ... Gutter press at its worst ... No wonder it only survives because of donations

Whats wrong with 'surviving because of donations?'

Do you think its better to 'survive' on tax revenue or licence fee etc taken forcibly, than it is to survive on money given freely ?

your default answer again.. change the subject again and change dog waste bin to 'public bin' to make it sound worse. As if you have any credibility left when you say you have never been married, after numerous references to your wife. I don't intend wasting any more time on you.

.. or do you think its better to be dependant on advertisers? - but then you can't afford to offend the big spending advertisers like fraudster Sir Richard Branson (yes he went to jail for fraud and tax evasion, still doesn't pay his tax in UK but wants us to bail him out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Branson )

- this is what I pay my donations for: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/apr/21/richard-branson-bailout

Who else is going to stop BoJo bailing him out with our money, then taking his holidays on Branson's caribbean island? - leaving the government in limbo like he did at Christmas when other countries were planning for Coronovirus..
