“We promise not to raise the rates of national insurance, income tax or VAT. This is a tax guarantee that will protect the incomes of hard-working families across the next parliament.”

Problem is in Johnsons case is that a large proportion of the electorate still continue to believe in what he says.

( Maybe they won't find him so lovable now he's had his hair cut ) .

;-)

Hence the reason I said let those who supported and pander to him pay......gullible idiots.

At the same time the lying scumbag pledged to fix the system of social care for good. The manifesto reads:

“Because this is a long-term problem that will affect so many people, any solution has to be able to survive long term. We must build the same level of consensus on social care as we have already built on the NHS.

“So we will build a cross-party consensus to bring forward an answer that solves the problem, commands the widest possible support, and stands the test of time. That consensus will consider a range of options but one condition we do make is that nobody needing care should be forced to sell their home to pay for it.”

He's already decimating the NHS and social care. The man is a menace, unfit for office and needs kicking out. He's plundered the public purse enough and imo should be locked up.

Well Labour seem to be struggling to argue against this TORY TAX RISE, but how could they argue against this LEFTY policy. The actual tax rise is to pay for the 'free' money the government has been handing out for the last 18 months, for the majority the social care costs problem won't be addressed by this, Boris 'the butcher' Kemal said at the last election he had a policy ready to go, it seems not.

You can dress a pig up anyway you want, even put some lipstick on it, it's still a pig. In this case it's a lefty tax raising policy, if you think Brexit is all about raising taxes, then you are just another lefty.

Well I think the least worst time to pay tax is when you are dead and don't need money anymore

Inheritance tax - and take away the loopholes that enabled the Duke of Westminster to inherit £10 billion tax free.

But this Government would rather tax earned income.

Presumably because the obscenely wealthy rentiers running the Government don't earn their income, they inherit it.

So they will tax earners, so that parasites can inherit a property they have not earned.

Which takes us even further away from a meritocracy, and the levelling up that Johnson promised to do.

How do you know where Hancocks chums are spending all the money they got for overpriced useless PPE etc?

My guess is its out of the country already

The £36 billion raised by this tax is going into the NHS and not social care, it's going to be very difficult for that to change after three years, so in even now Johnson has failed to solve the social care issue.

Its also a sum very similar to what was squandered paying consultants £5,000 a day for the failed Track and Trace system.

Its being presented as a Health and Social care levy

And I guess there are enough people daft enough to suck that up - with the help of the BBC and the rest of the Tory controlled media.

They won't look at the detail.

If you do look at the detail, as usual, The Conservatives are really about Conserving the property and inheritance of the already wealthy.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/sep/08/social-care-crisis-ni-contributions-tories-property-rights

The ones with the biggest inheritance will gain the most

This is another step away from a meriticracy

How does this fit with Johnson's promise of levelling up?

He is doing nothing about the care crisis, nada, f all.

You see the real care crisis is in full swing and Boris 'the butcher' Kemal has decided to make it worse.

so what is the real care crisis? Well ask anyone trying to get carers, they have been in short supply for years and now EU workers have been excluded, add on top the numpties that will leave because they won't have a jab and not only is it already getting worse, it's about to get worse still, hopefully this might be alleviated by much higher wages, but the problem with that is much higher bills, nobodies doing anything about that.

Pelmet is one of Johnsons Brexit cult adherents incapable of forming adult opinions so it's useless knocking on dead wood. They don't care a jot about anyone else except themselves so the only way they'll learn is when their cloud cuckoo bubble bursts and they get a taste of what they've been so selfish and contemptuous about.

Governments have no money, it all comes, one way or another, from us.

So, who should pay?

.......................... his manifesto pledge;

“We promise not to raise the rates of national insurance, income tax or VAT. This is a tax guarantee that will protect the incomes of hard-working families across the next parliament.”..................................

But, give him the benefit of the doubt. He doubtless meant it at the time, but wildly over-claimed. Reckless over-claiming seems to be his characteristic.

He should probably have attended this event: https://tinyurl.com/tw7vknyu See what you think. Some wonderful quotes in there. I think it well illustrates what has been, and continues to be, missing. As a journalist, he is a master of words, but is hopelessly adrift in how to translate words into actions.

Remember, "If you don’t get ahead of the curve you will never catch up. So over-resource at the start: people, kit, whatever. You can always scale back later." The missing ingredient?

What exactly?

Can you answer without changing the subject to an attack on someone else, because I would really like to know.

All I can see is a rehash of Teresa May's deal, which was rejected because it taxes the EARNED income of the poor to CONSERVE the inherited UNEARNED income of the rich.

This time its presented with lipstick on the pig.

He knows how to read the mood in a room, and promise whatever they want to hear - even in that promise is going to be broken an hour later :-S

Not yet, he's not. At the moment he's only " actually " talking about doing something about it.

He may yet decide that the tunnel + roundabout under the Irish Sea should take priority.

Well maybe after the new Royal Yacht, meanwhile the bodies are piling up, maybe he's decided that's the best way to solve the health crisis ?

Please explain how this 10% increase in tax which will hit the lowest paid hardest and raise £36 billion in the first three years- all of which is going to the NHS, is a sign of Johnson "Actually " doing something about the health care crisis?

Remember, "If you don’t get ahead of the curve you will never catch up. So over-resource at the start: people, kit, whatever. You can always scale back later." The missing ingredient?

Jonson is reckless and makes lots of wild claims.....remember his vocal protestations over Heathrows third runway where he said he would lie in front of the bulldozers? The day it came to be voted on by Parliament, Johnson had scarpered. The yellow streaked coward had run off out of the country to hide, nowhere to be seen. Parliament passed it through. He did later lie in front of a bulldozer......at Tory donor Bamfords JCB factory denying his comments on immigration.

The man is a pathological liar both in and out of politics. He lies with such regularity he cannot keep track of his own lies so inevitably gets skewered. The mistake he made was the use of two words....."promise" and "guarantee". To then pledge that in a manifesto was staggeringly inept and foolish but Johnson is simply playing his audience of gullible fools like a fiddle and fiddling the country in the process.

The Tories cannot continue using the pandemic as a smokescreen and even our rabid RW press have given up trying to blame Covid, (the rags owned by three non-dom billionaires who knock around with the likes of Mercer and Bannon the literal architects of Brexit) and now acknowledge the sh1t going on with our supply chain is down to leaving the EU.

Interesting read that EA link. I wonder what they make of Johnsons latest blunder by giving the green light to dumping raw sewage into rivers and the sea as Brexit has screwed up the supply chain?

https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-change/brexit-raw-sewerage-water-treatment-b1915765.html

Great quote from the soccer coach......"In a crisis, don’t hide behind anything or anybody. They’re going to find you anyway.”

Johnson needs reminding of that.......daily.

Plus slash millions from the state pensions bill so he has more to dish out to his mates. After all, Sunak has his pool and gym to build.
