Geeco
you may be interested to know that Adblue is in short supply here also. Our main source of that product is China and we are in a serious diplomatic bun fight with China currently. Not sure if that is influencing the supply position but one local RV forum has had a healthy discussion on the topic. As a fall back position from that discussion there is I understand the option to use an Adblue emulator to override the electronics that control the Adblue. So the emulator fools the Adblue controller into thinking it does not need to spray the urea fluid into the exhaust. This would solve the supply issue but I imagine diesel pollution would increase. The legality of such an override apparently differs depending on your country laws. cheers, https://www.cardiag.com/adblue-emulators-scr-systems/
Derek Uzzell
Disabling an AdBlue system was mentioned in the final posting of this early-2020 forum thread. https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Ad-blue/54362/ A current GOOGLE-search indicates that AdBlue emulators are readily available https://tinyurl.com/23jeyxbx Most (but certainly not all) online advertisers of these emulators warn of the products' potential illegality. This September 2021 "Express" article https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1495349/dvsa-warning-penalty-fine-emissions-emulators-uk claims that "It is illegal to produce, sell or keep AdBlue emulators...", but online adverts suggest that this is not so. John52
cheaper adblu can be found in unlikely places Just filled up from the adblu pump on the forecourt at Waitrose for £1.19 a litre. But if you are going to fill a can from an adblu pump you need a bit of pipe about the same size as your adblu filler neck to push up the the filler nozzle. You might be able to do it pushing a finger up the side of the nozzle but its a bit slow and awkward. Presumably this feature is to stop people putting adblue in the fuel tank. Derek Uzzell
I hadn't realised that Waitrose had fuel service stations, but I see that quite a few Shell service stations have a Waitrose outlet linked to them. https://www.waitrose.com/content/waitrose/en/bf_home/discover-waitroseatshell.html
