Key to fixing the economy.

I have posted on the Chatterbox Standards sticky thread previously that I have instructions from Daniel to remove any post which contains offensive language or comments or in which posters start trading insults.

The post referred to by Brian resorted to offensive language which most definitely was not appropriate for a public forum so the entire thread was removed.

Keep it decent and follow the rules and threads will not be removed.

Thanks Keith . It's something I've tried to get across to one or three of our valued members that swearing is not acceptable on a family forum . Maybe removal from the forum is the only answer for the persistent offenders? Without mentioning names I hope Barryd999 takes notice of mine, Keith's and Daniels stance on vulgarity

Re my emoji on the post above, we are in Chatterbox 😄

Thanks Keith . Like we said at the last OAL boardroom meeting those that want vulgarity should either rent cheap pornographic videos or join motorhome fruitcakes . Me and the hubby have never liked either . Best wishes

Yes it would be very odd for me to get actually get banned from a forum on the internet, as unlike some, its never ever happened to me before. 😎

post - not thread

Thats always been the case

But now entire threads are apparently deleted for one offending post, throwing the baby out with the bathwater and allowing the offending poster able to ruin it for everyone else.

That never stopped you from creating another account to log back in under another username as this is your third attempt after being banned from OAL.

Thankyou . Well lets be honest you preferred the days when you and John 52 sent each other unchallenged anti-Brexit/Boris/Tory/English daily messages via Chatterbox didn't you . Now theres also the return of a little humour that you find difficult to understand its obviously very frustrating . Regards

Often there are more than one offending posts on a thread before I see them and just deleting odd posts leaves the thread disjointed. Also where the offending post has been quoted it makes it extremely difficult to remove the offending part hence the whole thread gets removed.

Remember, keep it decent and there will be no need to remove posts and/or threads!

I don't know who to complain to because I didn't see the offending post.

And, unlike you, I don't make accusations without evidence.

Eh? "I dont know who to complain to" while less than 30 minutes ago you complained to Keith? You are very, very funny John52 though I dont believe you mean to be funny . Regards

OK, I have just found a way to remove individual posts without actually deleting them and destroying any evidence for possible action by the admins.

I can 'Hide' a post so only mods and admins can see it. Let's see how that works out...

Is there any chance you could run a league table as to who the "real" offenders are and how many of their posts / threads get pulled?  The loser (the most offensive) has to buy everyone a case of beer or something.

It was Antonys Sock pic that started the rot then?  Funnily enough that was allowed all the time on the old forum.  This place has gone too PC for me.

Time to find another forum to play on then...

With the move to the new forum software Daniel has asked to clean up CB so if you have a problem then I suggest you contact him directly.

I don't have a problem Keith, Its clear what the agenda is though.  It matters not one whit to me but if Chatterbox becomes stale and over censored then ill just stop using it.  Most forums off topic allow a degree of mild swear words or the odd funny risque photo for a bit of leg pulling.  In fact most proper forums have built in censors. Its a two minute job on my own forum to make a list of censored words and apply them to posts so why not just do that? (Although to be fair we dont censor anything).

You dont need swear words wether mild or not on any forum especially one thats family orientated like this . If you need to swear to get your point across or post almost pornographic material then like Keith says move on, catch the big red bus over to Motorhome Fun . Ding-ding
