silversurfa
The N/S rear torsion bar has broken on my 2005 Berlingo campervan. (94,000 miles). The rear tyre is now scraping the top of the wheel arch, meaning that the vehicle is only driveable to the local garage. They advise that a used (or new) rear axle is needed but think the original axle has been modified "because of the weight involved". And that for this reason getting a used/new one will be difficult. Is this so? I need help & advice to get me back on the road again! Thanks.
MikeF
Contact this company, https://www.imaxle.co.uk/axles/citroen They have the heavy duty axle for your vehicle. Its a complete unit but will need hubs, brakes added from the existing axle. Cost £290 for the axle. The garage will charge for the work involved. The normal duty is the 600 axle, the heavy duty is the 800 axle with thicker torsion bars. More info, website states out of stock, but on eBay suggests available at £265 plus £50 postage. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144024101802 I understand the diameter of the 800 torsion bar is 21.3 mm compared to 20.5 mm on the 600.
