  1. Down to personal choice , Pick the one your happy with and may have the least re routing or adaption to fit If drained down properly and use the method as Keithl describes it should give you good service Regards
  2. Well it must be as they are still allowing it . Total filling stations did ban it (for so called safety reasons) but I am told from Club members in France at the moment they filled their large underslung gas tank with out issue. Some of the gas stations will only allow fill if the tank is within the motorhome and not allow bottles to be filled outside So the outside filling fitting on the motorhome usually works and allows gas filling without any issues for the moment anyway. Their taxation system on the gas for domestic use may be another issue They filled in E,Leclerc just north of Tours (Zac les Fourgreolles la Ville Aux Dames) for €0.91 Regards
  3. Hi Replace it with a new one, and keep the old one if you are able to have it repaired as a spare Regards
  4. Hi Glad all worked out OK for you in the end . Hope you enjoy your new motorhome Regards Brendan
  5. True I really don't think it would have made a lot of difference , I see another manufacture of a very well known and worldwide respected vehicle (Not a motorhome, but used on many a safari is in major trouble with their engine) Again I really think it does not make a lot of difference what oil may be used Always very important now to use a very low ash oil as DPF blockages are common Any delighted to see John got fixed up , sadly not a nice thing to happen when you are trying your best Regards
  6. Hi No not a nice thing to happen to anyone Regards
  7. Hi Only 90,000 miles on a well serviced engine , considering oil changed between recommended services as well It's far from good no matter who produced it . Who knows ?, singing their praise one minute and running them down another Very strange whats portrayed here. But hopefully all had a positive outcome in the end Regards
  8. Hi Wow , That.s disgraceful that no handbook back then would not be forwarded by a main dealer to the owner of a new vehicle , but I supposed when asked he did post it on . Sad to hear the engine only got to 90,000 due to turbo failure and oil starvation ,considering you changed the oil more frequently than the recommended interval (good practice as those intervals are a tad ambitious) I hope you made contact with the manufacture through your dealer and had a positive outcome. I am taken aback at the very poor back up service from the manufacture portrayed here on this forum Regards
  9. Thanks for your reply, it really looked as if you had a worry as to issue as I had no idea as to your technical experience or not only as Derek points out in his post . My apologies if I indeed I have misread your initial concern and I acknowledge my input is my opinion same as others here that post on line. That is indeed your right on how you wish to take those opinions or not. I also do not in anyway wish to override the expertise and advice of the manufacture of the product involved . Hopefully this clarifies my post to you Regards
  10. Derek With the greatest respect ,I really think the manufacture should be the first port of call if one such as "Veletron " has such a worry . That is the reason I simply asked So are you saying her post was so ridiculous they may in your opinion reply with (as your quote below in bold) So what are we to take from your posts the manufacture of a product if you have an issue or question , that they are just not worth contacting ?
  11. So Derek What are we to take from your posts , that they are that bad and not worth contacting ? The actual manufacture of the product? This is why I posted the following I think it is quite alarming that if the manufacture of a product is portrayed as unable or indeed unwilling to give an answer to such a serious question as some posters post on this form, give the impression they may be actually uncontactable.??? What does that say about after service of the product, especially as portrayed on the forum here they are unable to answer those questions and may be actually uncontactable?. Why would anyone buy such a product with no back up ? The purchasers of such products are then just left to just answers alone on forums, be the information be correct or incorrect Regards
  12. Hi Did the dealer give you any further advice regarding the Exhaust Gas Rerc' v/v ? Regards

  14. Hi again I find it a little bizarre you are looking for such important information on forums and as you say, and you do not find it worth your time or effort to contact the manufactures of the product because of the way they have dealt with you in the past. That in itself does not say a lot for the aftersales service of indeed of any company. As you say you were unable to get a satisfactory answer to your question to very important service data. I find that unacceptable. I really don't think I would be purchasing that product again indeed if I was treated in that manner. Kind regards

  16. Hi Well done , Thanks for the feedback Regards
  17. Hi Again , any good organisation should do ? It should indeed put the OP mind at ease and cut out all the guesswork , on coming from the manufacturer of the product Sorry am am not at home at the moment so no access to workshop data Regards
  18. Hi Contact Fiat themselves. I am sure they will help as any good organisation that are selling their products would? Regards
  19. Hi Hopefully Fiat Technical Information Services will put "veletron" mind at ease Regards
  20. Hi Veletron I see in the past (April 13, 2017) you had a similar issue with your oil grade for your engine .Why not also contact Fiat Technical Information Services with your Gearbox data (M40?) and get a definitive answer from them and any other data you may think you may need It may help to put your mind at ease if your are unsure Re:- the conflicting information you have of the oil spec' for your specific gearbox of that year Regards
  21. Hi John Without coming as across as being rude , if you don't know how to do that you should leave well enough alone . For that very reason it should really be left to those that know what they are doing A good known reliable Tech' .Of course you can also without any diagnostic equipment just wiggle the wiring , sometimes it can have the effect masking the fault in the loom for awhile Lets see how the OP gets on and hopefully have the issue resolved without incurring as he says himself a lot of grief and money Kind regards
  22. In answering John's question as I have found many a time Tech's sometimes replace the sensor/sensors and do not do a simple wiring loom test to check from ECU pins to sensor pins and all connection blocks. The movement on replacing the sensor sometimes allows a timeframe before the said wiring gives trouble again . Earths should always be checked as also reference voltage . This indeed may not be your issue but it's the first path you should check and with the least cost to you .Have a good diagnostic Tech' check done by a known good Tech' first to narrow down what really may be causing your issue and taking out a lot of guesswork and can go a long way in solving your problem before just replacing parts as you have done in the past as you say (sensors) Good rule of thumb First find the issue , then repair it or replace it Regards
  23. Hi What other codes is your reader showing Have you had a professional diagnostic done? If so what was their advice (not just AA) It may be prudent to first check and ensure all earths as advised (by Labby) are in good condition as also your wiring loom to your ECU for damage and loom from sensors to the ECU and associate earths for damage Regards
  24. Hi On some models yes you can disable it through the menu section yourself but if I remember correctly it re sets it self every time you turn off the ignition (not much use) I may be wrong! You can also disable on some (not all models) by leaving the key in position 1 it should not come on when camping. Your owners manual may give an update to your vehicle in question But as Derek points out you are better off going to your dealership and have it removed as it is as I understand it may still under warranty., This is a well known issue with same with those camping Regards
  25. Hi All Question needs clarification as to this still rather vague question by the OP??? A full picture is needed ,as to what condition was the engine in when repatriated home Was the assessment carried out by the Garage that you say serviced the vehicle and (the garage said that he must have put some extra wrong oil in!) ? and also independently by an mechanical engineer. If so what was their professional assessment as to the cause, with of course photos of the damage in helping to substantiate the evidence of damage to same Regards
