  1. Hi Just as David quite rightly informed you as there is quite a draw on start up .Quite often the voltage drop is caused by the connector block and also the relay pins that also get contaminated, So replacing the relay and cleaning the connector should give you enough power assuming your leisure batteries are good. Hopefully a heads up for your friend you are taking it to next week UNIT = Eberspacher and Combitronic de lux Hope all works out well Regards
  2. Hi David I concur to all of the above , but the OP needs to supply a lot more detail from his friend, way too vague a question Regards
  3. Hi I think the OP needs to check as the radio fitted as it may just be a DAB radio but alas without a DAB aerial I think they have been fitted on the windscreen with a positive feedback regarding reception improvement and sound quality Well worth trying first without removing your old radio and Robinhood says it's a little more complex especially with all the extra features one has to deal with now We await your reply yorkyram1 maybe a photo of your Radio may help here Regards
  4. Check you have (12v) full voltage to your unit . A bad relay may sometimes cause your common issue of working on 240/230v only Send on a few photos of your unit Regards
  5. Hi Have you tried first as Colin suggests try updating the aerial first (dab aerial). This has improved things for many with the same issue of poor reception . Have a look at all the connections at the rear of your present radio Make sure they are all good first and connected properly before condemning the radio Regards
  6. Hi Photo of panel etc' may be of help Regards
  7. Again the question is way too vague without some answers >?
  8. Hi What model is the Combitronic is it CT03C, CT03M, CT05C, CT05M ? Is the panel same as attached ? Photo of panel and unit would help Regards
  9. Hi Johathan The following would be helpful as your question is way too vague First of all find out what oil? or no oil? or water did he put in his vehicle (Was it actually serviced, at that time ) What did the mechanic say when it was repatriated home? Take it from there Regards
  10. Hi Glad you got it working again . look for more loose wires or poor earth Regards
  11. Hi You may just have fixed the issue by resealing your roof light and vent and it going to take some time for it to dry out .As Keithl suggests a photo or photos would be very helpful at this stages if the water ingress persists Of course turning it around may also be worth a try Have a good look around there may be a little hairline crack your missing Looking forward to some photos of same Regards
  12. Hi Yes check the Fuse as per normal first , light itself/sensor , wiring for continuity and correctly connected (dry joint)etc' I am afraid Freddie has not returned to us for an update
  13. Hi Thanks for that Derek I too am a little unsure how to interpret the 2 year old light Wasn't quite sure if he had a 2020 motorhome or not and was the awing light fitted in 2021/2022. Yes, master switch Off/ ON should work that is if, the wiring has been replaced correctly from the damaged wiring in the door sensor Regards
  14. Hi BruceM It may be important as you have not used the air con as you say for quite a long time to give the air con unit a refresh by killing off any bacteria, fungus and yeasts while leaving a pleasant aroma. Two cans should suffice Directions are on the tin as attached or use similar products available. (always use after replacing with a new cabin filter ,first) Regards
  15. Hi Freddie, You say 2 year old awing light? It may be a good idea to send a photo/photos of your control panel Does it match up with the one Derek has posted with no on/off switch? Have you followed the excellent advice Labby has given you to help resolve your issue? Any outcome? Regards
  16. Hi All Just an update , all six heater plugs replaced (easy removal, none stuck) and heater module and of course red turbine seal (very important , do not skimp on this) plus fuel filter . The job was not that difficult ,after the removal of the letterbox bonnet which gave very little extra room but just enough. Yes about 2 hours extra over the normal Sprinter due to the poor access . Full reset on diagnostic and all working well for their new adventure this year abroad . Looks like the may keep it for a while yet. Thanks to everyone for their input and advice , It helped and was interesting to get all your views . Regards Brendan
  17. Hi All I really think it would be very foolhardy to fit cheap Chinese parts into a Truma D6, especially if you have to turn some of those cheap parts as mentioned upside down to get them to work ,which is way outside the optimum of 25Deg' that in fact Truma actually recommend for their Truma D6 ( recommendations are between 15Deg' and 35Deg' ) I hope Mike (TheFrenchConnection) reports back to us to tell us how he got on with his Truma D6 as indeed not only the pump angle can cause white smoke on start up . Hope he reports back Regards
  18. Hi All Again I think the OP asked about his Truma D6 ..............not a Chinese heater ????? So lol I was answering the OP question not on a cheap Chinese version Again I think they are they experts regarding their product the sell and i have posted an attachment on same (over and over) as proof . So why one individual here wants to talk about his exploits about his Chinese heaters which have nothing to do with what the OP be asked about is anyone guess lol maybe just picking holes and trying to argue over nothing is beyond me. Maybe if it was about a cheap Chinese heater he is the man . Anyway I hope the OP (TheFrenchConnection) got sorted Regards Brendan
  19. Hi Afraid so, but you can of course use Independent's but so bloody difficult to prove that they have used the correct approved oil spec' They will of course do a oil analysis and it may be within spec but alas they may also look for proof of the oil used from the Independent garage, that it's the oil they recommend (wriggle room for them) But many do have the oil changed way before the recommended schedule (divided by two) by an Independant they may know and trust, which isn't a bad thing to prolong your engines life So yes bite the bullet sadly and have it done by an approved dealer of your vehicle during warranty. Regards
  20. Jeremy Not at all and never meant to be rude in any way, Regards Brendan
  21. Jermy Not looking to find holes in statements as you do ,not really a sweeping statement, lol🤣 more a common sense. Did I ever say actually in my first statement that they can't actually do that, as you claimed you may have missed something, Of course they do . The statement I made is a true statement as many who have had issues with warranty over the years know quite well in dealing with same. It would be a very wise move to use an approved main dealer while the vehicle is under warranty One can use an Independent but they may have to prove they actually used the approved oil and that sometimes can be a difficult task and can give the manufacture some wriggle room to make the warranty null and void as many have found to their cost Regards PS My answer was in reply to the following ,of course as you know "Because who else is going to check it meets the specs it says on the label?" Posted 5 hours ago Hi I think the oil is checked in the case of a warranty claim ! Regards
  22. Hi Yes re read , That's exactly what they check .Some cases they also look from the approved garage or independent that the approved oil was used . Common practice in most warranty cases Regards
  23. Hi I think the oil is checked in the case of a warranty claim ! Regards
  24. Hi, If your out of your warranty period as below.(1 and 2).If not use Fiat recommended approved oil for your engine 1.Use a good brand of the correct specification for your engine. example- (Castrol Magnatec 0W-30 GS1/DS1 or similar) 2.Change the oil often and never overfill. It's the life blood of your engine Regards
  25. Hi Mike These are only the first issues i mentioned and to check first ,that may cause white smoke and as Mtravel correctly quoted it needs to be run regularly and hot, to heat up properly often , to prevent coking which can prevent enough heat transfer on start up and produce unburnt diesel fuel during combustion Also the heater plug may not be getting enough voltage on start up due to voltage drop and the screen around it may become coked up also doing same The small screen (if fitted) be cleaned by removal and burning off the soot in a gas flame (similar to exhaust spark arrestor in two stroke small engines) Careful full insertion is needed on replacement not to block off the small air hole I hope you got a positive response today from your repairer and not too costly an outcome Regards Brendan
