  1. Trigger, Sorry to hear of your blow out but do you have any idea on the age of the tyre? I'm not even sure what year your MH is to ask if maybe it was still the original fitment? Keith.
  2. Thanks Chris, The regulator swap will be the easy part, undo the worm drive clip and pull the regulator out of the hose then fit the new one. The difficult part is working out if your appliances will work on propane at its slightly higher operating pressure. Butane regulators operate at 28 mbar and Propane at 37 mbar. If you have the original instructions for the fridge, stove, etc. then these should detail gas supply requirements or search online for copies. If not then try looking for the manufacturers rating plate on the appliances. I would hazard a guess they will all be ok but you really do need to check. Keith.
  3. Hi Chris, We're going to need a bit more info to help you, what year was your MH manufactured and do you have the regulator connected directly onto the cylinder or is it mounted on the bulkhead with a high pressure pigtail connecting it to the cylinder? PS make and model of MH may also help. Keith.
  4. I passed my Motorcycle driving test back in the late 1970's so a clear ten years before the CBT was introduced on 1st December 1990. I haven't ridden a M/C for well over 30 years now but still have the category on my license.
  5. Has he ever weighed his van? If not a trip to a local weighbridge may well be advised! The max allowable weights (both total and individual axles) will be stamped on the VIN plate most likely on the side of the drivers seat base or if not then somewhere near.
  6. Lesley, I'm slightly confused at the events leading up to the garages diagnosis that your Son's van needs anew ABS module. You say he took it in for a service so were there any problems with the brakes before this, ie warning light on or squealing, etc. or did the service include any work on the brakes, ie replacement of pads, discs, etc.? If the garage didn't do any work on the brakes how did they come to the diagnosis that the van needs a new module? Did they give you a fault code that they have based their diagnosis on? Maybe get a second opinion on the fault before going ahead with replacement of the module. Keith.
  7. If there is an ABS light on then there should be a fault code stored in the ABS module, so has anyone interrogated the module for codes? Keith.
  8. Hans, Are you sure this Lithium battery is suitable for use where you have it in your engine bay? From the Super B website the maximum allowable temperatures are and my experience of vehicle engine bay temperatures is that they can easily exceed 100 degrees C. Keith.
  9. I agree with Labby, you may be confusing oil pressure with oil level and the garages answer of use the dipstick would be the clue here.
  10. Please can posters requesting information or help in the Show News section have the courtesy to acknowledge any replies they receive. Seven of the last eight requests for help have been from new forum members who have then never even logged back on to the forum. A simple 'Thank you' would be appreciated or even better a reply as to whether the information posted was useful. Keith.
  11. Hans, Maybe in most parts of mainland Europe but NOT in the UK. Here Butane cylinders always have a 21.8LH male thread on the cylinder whilst propane cylinders have a Female POL thread on the cylinder. The only exceptions in the UK are the various sizes of clip on regulators and adaptors but the subject here is specifically the threaded cylinders. And the UK norm for bulkhead mounted regulators is 30 mb which I thought was a European standard. Keith.
  12. Have you done basic troubleshooting of testing for voltage at the connections to the CBE unit and tested all fuses in the circuit?
  13. If you had come here as a newby and asked how to convert from a Calor propane to LeCube I would have replied exactly as I have above. You seemed to imply that the question had never been asked before whereas in reality it has been answered many times on here, hence my scepticism with your first post containing a link which could have appeared to be Spam.
  14. Or you could go to the Gaslow Direct website and search 'LeCube' to find the correct adapter to convert to a 21.8LH (Butane) fitting. You would then use either a Butane 21.8LH pigtail or an adapter to convert again to a POL connection if you have a Propane pigtail. https://www.gaslowdirect.com/product/gaslow-27mm-clip-on-gas-cylinder-adapter-01-1673-t/ https://www.gaslowdirect.com/product/gaslow-propane-to-21-8lh-adapter/
  15. @bobsover Do you by any chance have any connection with the company linked?
  16. But it also looks like the OP has not returned since Tuesday so we are all talking amongst ourselves!
  17. Sorry, I did not make the point of my post clear. On one hand Elddis are saying you should not work on the gas system of your MH, obviously with the exception of changing cylinders, and if the regulator is bulkhead mounted then my interpretation would be that removing the regulator is within this restriction. So how can Elddis expect an owner to change the cylinder if you have to remove the bulkhead mounted regulator as ColinM50 has said he had to? Hope that makes my point clear, I had not intended to start a debate on the legality of working on MH gas systems.
  18. It was actually the quote from the Elddis handbook that said only Gas Safe Engineers could work on the gas installation, but with no mention of legality.
  19. And as Elddis state that only Gas Safe Engineers can work on the gas system that will prevent an owner from changing their own gas cylinder! Extract from the same Owners Handbook... It might need a contortionist but there must be a way to swap the cylinders without dismantling the gas system or how can Elddis expect an owner to swap their own gas cylinder?
  20. It would help to know the year of @David Force 115 to confirm but as an example the 2019 Elddis Owners Handbook clearly says the gas locker will hold two 6 kg gas cylinders so it must be possible to fit and remove them through the locker door... https://elddis.co.uk/uploads/Handbooks/2019/2019-Autoquest-Handbook.pdf
  21. Not sure what the locker looks like on an Autoquest but you may have to lift the bottle and remove it bottom first.
