The O&AL forums have 2 active ‘volunteer’ moderators - a hang-over from when the forums were brought to their knees by spamming in 2016 - but the loathsome Chatterbox forum is a no-go area for moderation and the half dozen or so Chatterbox ‘specialists’ who dominate it are largely left to their own demonic devices. Occasionally one of them gets a yellow-card heave ho from the Administrator for extreme outrageousness but this doesn’t have any real long-term effect. The further to the right one's instincts lie, the more other people seem to be loony lefty types. The further to the left one's instincts lie, the more other people seem to be loony righty types. I largely agree with Rich that too much Chatterbox content is politically biased, uninformative, tripe. Mostly posted by those who think that they are the only "true believers", and that no good ideas ever came from the "other (dark) side". That is why proper debate has been defeated in favour of political sloganising. I also agree with Paul that writing off someone else's opinion on the ground that it comes from a politically flawed perspective is daft. Does any side of the political spectrum have a monopoly on being right? Has any government, of any political complexion, ever been consistently right, or wrong?
