lizken
My water pump keeps burping regularly when all taps are clossed. Is there a pressure adjust valve, and if so, where is it?
Derek Uzzell
I don’t know which make/model of water pump Elddis will have fitted to a 2017 Accordo 105, and I can’t find anything on-line to help :-( - but your “keeps burping” description suggests that the pump is a pressure-sensitive diaphragm type. There are several makers of such pumps (eg. Fiamma, SHURflo, Whale) and the SHURflo pump certainly does have a shut-off adjustment capability. This adjustment is carried out by turning a screw in the face of the pump’s ‘head’ as shown in this old document https://www.rexandsonsrvs.com/manuals/swtchadj2088.pdf If your pump has suddenly begun to do this when all the taps are closed, you should check very carefully for a minor water leak ‘downstream’ of the pump. lizken
Thanks Derek I. Suspected a minor leak releasing the pressure at the pump but although I can hear the pump, I can not find access to it
Keithl
Is it still under warranty as it is a 2017 model? If so try contacting your dealer for advise. Keith.
Charles
It's probably a whale pump as all the other stuff is whale. Ours does it, there's no water leaks, it's just the non return valve on the pump outlet letting water back slowly. Sometimes it does it every half hour, and other times it won't do it for days. Alanb
It s a good idea to turn the pump OFF when not in use for prolonged periods, such as when travelling, over night, or when not in the vehicle. Otherwise there is the risk that if a small leak developed, the pump could empty the tank via the leak and cause damage. Alan
lizken
Hi Charles It is a whale pump but I cannot find it. Do you know where it is I do always switch the pump off when not in use
Derek Uzzell
lizken These earlier forum threads discussed a noisy water-pump in a 2015 Elddis http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Hints-and-Tips/Noisy-Elddis-Water-Pump/38917/ http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Noisy-Autoquest-Water-Pumps/39685/ This link is to the Elddis Owners Handbook for the 2017 model-year Accordo range. http://www.elddis.co.uk/documents/Handbooks/2017/2017-Accordo-Handbook.pdf No clue is given regarding the location of the water-pump, and the only suggestion of what make/model of pump it MIGHT be is a small drawing on a wiring-diagram suggesting that the pump may be a Whale “Watermaster”. https://www.whalepumps.com/rv/product.aspx?Category_ID=10006&Product_ID=102&FriendlyID=Watermaster-On-Board-Pump Details of the Watermaster pump are here https://www.whalepumps.com/rv/siteFiles/resources/docs/resource-library/sr_766.50_v1_0513.pdf and give no indication that a Watermaster pump can be adjusted to stop it ‘cycling’ when all water outlets are closed. Pressure-sensitive water-pumps are normally sufficiently loud in operation to be able to identify roughly where they are located - but that doesn’t mean they won’t be hidden. A pressure-sensitive pump is often positioned reasonably close to a motorhome’s fresh-water tank, but may not be accessible without removing some sort of cover. (The noise my Rapido’s SHURflo pump makes leaves no doubt that it is under the bed, but a large cover needs to be removed to access the pump.) As you can hear your Accordo’s pump, you must have an idea where it is, so look for a removable cover or ‘hatch’ in (say) a wardrobe base, or under a seat, beneath a bed, within a kitchen unit - it’s got to be somewhere if you can hear it. Charles mentions that the pump in his 2015 Accordo 105 makes a noise, so presumably he can say where the pump in his motorhome is located and (hopefully) your 2017 Accordo’s pump will be in a similar place, The noise-producing behaviour Charles describes ("Sometimes it does it every half hour, and other times it won't do it for days”) is indeed perfectly normal for a pressure-sensitive pump, but I’m guessing that the “burping regularly” behaviour that you’ve asked about happens far more often. As Keith has said, contact your dealer. If there is no water leak and it’s plain that the pump is cycling more than should be expected when the taps are all turned off, a replacement pump will probably be needed. (Has the pump always done this? If it used to be OK in 2017 year, there’s the possibility that the pump has been frost-damaged.)
lizken
Thanks Derek. I can rule out frost damage as it only began last weekend after regular use. The pump sounds to be in the wardrobe area but there is no obvious access point. As my nearest dealer is 100 miles away, I thought the forum might tell me where access is but I think a phone call to the dealer is necessary. Thanks again
accordoman
Inside the wardrobe on the left is a recess with three shelves. The bottom shelf is fixed with screws covered with a round piece of plastic. The pump may be under this fixed shelf which is above the fresh water tank. My Accordo is a 2015 model and I note that more recent models have changed the rear layout so your Accordo may be different than mine. Hope this helps. lizken
Hi accordoman, My van is similar with the storage shelves off the wardrobe. As the pump sounds to be in this area I will investigate there. The latest models have a shower cubicle in place of this shelving, and the outside lockers. Where do you store anything in this design? I think they have spoilt a good van
Charles
Think accordoman is right, certainly sounds like it's there.
Charles
Did anybody find out how to access the water pump on the 105? Ours is making a funny noise and seems to be having difficulty priming.
potus4388
The water pump in my Majestic 120 and also in an Accordo 135 I had, is in a cupboard under the kitchen sink and quite clearly visible. The 135 was a 2017 reg and the 120 is a 2019 reg. Hope this helps

It's probably under the bottom shelf in the wardrobe cupboards, that will be my first place to look anyway. The pump sounds like a helicopter now lol, still pumping OK though once it's primed. I'll report back once I've had a look next week.
