I mention that just in case people just read the link details and not the article and mistake if for evidence that this type of abuse is ongoing. We all know very well the likely ethnic or religious background of the perpetrators because we know what was going on there at the time. What is interesting is why their trials have only just taken place. I wonder if the victims have only recently come forward with their complaints. That's not a criticism btw. The recent convictions reported this week resulted from one of its 22 current sub-operations and there is another sub-operation with 36 suspects that is expected to be sent to the Crown Prosecution Service within 2 months. The head of the inquiry said that the scale of their work was daunting. His team is actively engaged with more than 290 of 1,523 identified victims. 90% of the 1,523 were white British girls aged 11-18 and 80% of the suspects are of Pakistani origin. It is easy to see why it has taken a while to bring some of the offenders to justice and it looks like we are going to see reports of these cases in the press for a considerable time to come. Can you show the evidence for your claim ??? Read the article in the Independent there's a link to in the first post on this thread. I said "potentially" derailed it, not that he did. We have yet to see whether the Attorney General deems it necessary for him to be tried for contempt. It is enough if his actions amounted to a breach of the order prohibiting publication- it would not have to be shown that the trial collapsed for him to be found guilty.
