'Boris Johnson is the frontrunner because he is a master of misdirection – the conjuring technique for steering an audience’s eyes away from sleight of hand, deception passed off as magic. The whole “Boris” persona – carefully careless hair and linguistic prestidigitation – is a vaudevillian trick that Johnson plays on British politics, manipulating debate away from his lying incompetence, idleness, philandering self-obsession and intellectual vacuity.'

He doesn't need to misdirect us Tory party members ;-) ..............

We'd vote for him just to annoy Socialists & Remoaners :D .......

That I think is sadly the truth for a lot of Brexiteers. Some of them yourself included I think long since gave up on doing what is best for the country and its people and its all about "beating the sad liberal remoaners" now at any cost, literally ANY cost.

Bonkers but there you go.

Boris is popular with you and others like you because he keeps the dream alive. Just like Farage he relies on rousing positive speeches with Daily Fail headline quotes about betrayal etc and silly undemocratic remainers "thwarting" Brexit etc. The delicious thing about it all is if he wins he is going to actually have to "do something" and that is when I suspect he will come unstuck and betray you.

He's a serial liar, philanderer, racist and homophobe and even lies to his own party and boss. And you think those are 'qualities' to lead a country? You said yourself Johnson is a man who would "sell his own Granny".

So long as he buys our freedom with the proceeds ;-) .......

I don't give a toss B-) ........

within hours of leaving without a deal someone will have to get on the phone to Brussels and make a deal to get essential supplies through Dover. But since that will be difficult with Brussels holding the strongest hand I suspect Boris will leave it to someone else :-S

You voted to end that remember......and you can't have it both ways, freedom for you but not others.

You will when the Spanish authorities tumble your little ruse and start questioning where your tax returns are. UK border authorities will also take an 'interest' in you if we become third country citizens.

"Dear Sir/Madam,

The first ballot of Conservative Members of Parliament was held this morning.

The Parliamentary Party cast their votes for the next Leader of the Conservative Party.

The results are as follows – in alphabetical order by surname:

Candidate Votes 2nd ballot

Michael Gove 37 Yes

Matt Hancock 20 Yes

Mark Harper 10 No

Jeremy Hunt 43 Yes

Sajid Javid 23 Yes

Boris Johnson 114 Yes

Andrea Leadsom 11 No

Esther McVey 9 No

Dominic Raab 27 Yes

Rory Stewart 19 Yes

Total 313 7

According to the rules agreed by the 1922 Committee and the Conservative Party Board, candidates who receive 16 votes or fewer are eliminated.

Therefore 3 candidates are eliminated. The remaining 7 candidates move forward to the second ballot of MPs. This will be held on Tuesday the 18th of June.

The Conservative Party

P.S. Leadership elections are expensive. And whatever the result, we’ll need to work together to keep Corbyn out of power. So why not donate to our campaigns?

If you don’t want to receive any more messages from Theresa May and the Conservatives, click here to unsubscribe. Promoted by Alan Mabbutt on behalf of the Conservative Party, both of 4 Matthew Parker Street, London SW1H 9HQ."

If Boris gets elected PM B-) ...........

I may well make a contribution to the Tories "Keep the Commie out of No10 fund" :D ..........

Boris is a Master of Misdirection and Deception. So its hardly surprising Brexit Tory MPs want him because Misdirection and Deception is the only way they can win an election.

They will be keeping their cushy jobs. £billionaire 'Newspaper' owners Tax Havens will be safe from EU intervention. Rupert Murdoch can continue going to Downing Street https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/feb/05/rupert-murdoch-access-to-downing-street-theresa-may-david-cameron instead of going to Brussels where they take no notice of him. So its obvious why THEY all want Boris.

What I can't understand is what you think Boris will do for you *-)

An interesting piece on Boris and what he will "actually" do as regards Brexit.

Many Brexiteers are pinning their last hopes on Boris and he is talking the talk but its quite clear its just that, Talk. At the end of the day Boris wants to be popular and he will do whatever serves him best and taking the country out of the EU by crashing out on 31 October with no deal and when once again we will not be prepared will be the last thing he would ever do.

It would be somewhat ironic and poetic justice though that his lies come full circle and end up betraying the very people who voted him into number 10.

You seem to still think your version of Brexit is supported by a majority and it just isnt. The Brexit party will just split the already weakened Tory vote and hand the keys to number 10 to either a Corbyn led coalition or a LibDem coalition if there is a GE. I think Boris would revoke or call a second ref before he would go down that route. Its just possible if he does try and crash us out (he wont) the government would fall in a no confidence vote. I think once again you have backed the wrong horse.

Do you think he might be brave enough to turn up for this one seeing as he was empty chaired last night? Thats the calibre of our PM in waiting. Too scared to face the likes of Rory Stewart where he might actually have to answer some awkward questions and hoping he will be knocked out by tomorrow and advised by his team to not attend in case he puts his foot in it. Jeesaz. *-)
