BREXIT is yesterday news..........The EU have got the next crisis to look forward too :D ......

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/11/the-next-eu-crisis-in-the-italian-banks-needs-to-be-addressed

Brexit might be yesterdays news for the EU, but the problems for Britain have barely begun.

Nice to see the EU are saying Bank Bondholders will have to bear the brunt of the banking crisis instead of being showered with taxpayers money as they have in Britain. If we really had been ruled from Brussels they could have done the same for us.

I dunno, it looks to me like the EU (Germany) want to shaft the little people again :-| .....

"The EU (especially Germany) is opposed to a state bailout. It is now supposed to be equity holders and holders of subordinated (or junior) bonds who are supposed to take the first losses. In Italy this is difficult, as many of the subordinated bonds have been sold to households and individuals, and it will be politically difficult to make them take capital losses for the bad debt problems of the banks."

Even in Italy the 'little people' don't hold investments let alone bank bonds. In the UK bank debt was yielding about 10% on the basis that its risky - but the taxpayer took on all the risk leaving wealthy bondholders with the profit. Woiuldn't have happened if we really had been ruled from Brussels because, like the illegal invasion of Iraq, the rest of Europe was against it.

Its a pity somebody didnt put up the following poster as the likely outcomes of Britain out of the EU before the vote.

Which one are we having then?

Not necessarily any of them.

In the future any other countries who want to leave will be able to see a poster with our option on it as well.

Our option has yet to be decided.

Queen Nicola , her idea of a lifetime seems to be every couple of years

I've never met Nicola Sturgeon. But have spoken to many ordinary people here in Pissindoon who have contacted her needing her help and they all spoke highly of her, saying she works very long hours to make herself available to people who need help.

Well you can't say no fairer than that ... I work long hours too and try to help others but folk still hate me too , me and Krankie got sumat in common

In the future the EU may not exist as it does now if the rest of Europe are as cheesed off as polls suggest

Must be out of date info as it seems post Brexit the Europeans are rallying round and becoming more pro EU. http://qz.com/723813/after-brexit-people-in-europe-are-suddenly-feeling-a-lot-more-european/

Seems like its turning around and the Europeans are closing ranks. Think about it. One member of a gang gets all lippy, causes trouble and leaves. The others naturally go against that member and close ranks.

The only people who are all for it are the far right leaders like La Pen. Thats not good. Nobody wants to see them rise up surely. Do they?

If she wins the presidency she's promised to give France a referendum ;-) ..........and the last polls said 61% of the French didn't like the EU :D ........

Now that would be the final nail in the EU coffin if the French left B-) ........

I see the pound is back at 1.20€.........dam that's gonna annoy the remainers :D .........

If it gets back to where it was when the Euro was introduced (1.40) it will be elevated to the same level as what Farage called 'your failed currency' ...

Oh yes, and have they sorted out Greece....and Spain? And I need a reality check because I think the EU needs us (well our money) more than we need them? Maybe, time will tell.

Having read some of this thread....got to the point where I almost gave up the will to live with the 'Remain' contingent hammering on about 'exit voters' being misled, why exit voters were duped etc and one even mentioning a second referendum all I have to say is this:

The referendum was despicably fought over by both sides.  Lies  sorry political speak...falsehoods....were delivered by both camps.  People are not all as easily led or as thick as some of the remain camp would paint them and I consider their posturing to be quite offensive.  One poster has has even commented regarding another referendum!!!  Other offerings have intimated/said that our politicos might not be fighting as strongly as they can to gain the best deal.....sure politicos are going to stuff the UK in negotiations in a fit of pique.....like hell they are.  Whoever is in the negotiating seat is going to have to fight for the best deal or go down in history as the wimp that screwed the UK and I can't see that happening.
The BOTTOM LINE  is the DEMOCRATIC VOTE was for EXIT.  People voted based on a whole host of reasons for remain or exit, on lies or half truths or projections etc etc.  Whatever the reason to vote one way or another the result was OUT and the country needs to pull together...stop bloody bitching and get on with making the UK great.

PS... I'm a big chap now (my Mum said so) and I don't need any bleeding heart (sorry I meant self important opinionated git) speaking on my behalf....if I felt lied to or duped or otherwise influenced by falsehoods I can fight my own corner and don't need anyone to complain (unasked) in my name.....Thank you and goodnight.

They could join us and form a FRUK.

So you'd have a FRUK-EU scenario.

the EU needs us (well our money)

What money?

You make Britain sound like a country with a Sovereign Wealth Fund instead of this http://www.nationaldebtclock.co.uk/

Which is why we cant afford to borrow money to give to the EU ;-) ........

The French may say they dont like the EU. They are good at that but I Can tell you right now 100% that they would never vote to leave in a referendum.

As for the pound and the Euro. Its not necessarily the rate between pound and Euro that you need to worry about. Have a look at the dollar!

Anyway things may stabilise possibly because we havent left and I suspect if Article 50 is ever invoked it will not be until after the French and German elections which do not finish until October next year by which time the country will have forgotten all about it anyway and we can all get on with voting on the X Factor instead.

Im off tomorrow up to the new European Peoples Pubic of Scotlandshire. Antony who I think is a secret remainer has been given the honour of posting on my behalf. :D

An absolute honour to post in your absence Barry ... Ive already started wearing the sandals and socks to try and get in your mind set a little better , read Jeremy Corbyns biography , joined Greenpeace , bought a vegan recipe book and converted to Islam ... Plenty of tissues on hand for when folk mention the EU too ... Have a good un

Nevertheless, the possibility that we may be on the wrong side of trade barriers in a few years time is likely to discourage investment in UK based productive industry - which is needed to pay off the debts Osborne has created by pumping up house prices. Thats why the pound has fallen.

And so it goes on......

Well said RogerC. Obviously there are some who will not agree with your sentiments, are not so happy with our own country and would wish us to be part of a larger country like the EU.

David

P.S. I seem to recall that at least some of the debts we have were created by a Labour government for which we are all still paying.

What the remainers are forgetting is the simple fact that the "majority" voted to leave B-) ........
