The reason it " didn't get worse " is because there was no-one there to fight with. Analysing (or if you like diagnosing) someone like Trump presents quite a challenge, probably even to a specialist psychologist or psychiatrist. I’ve heard the terms sociopath, narcissist and bully applied, which all seem to fit but he also begs the question of whether he is bad or mad or both. He has certainly shown himself recently to be an extreme example of whatever he is. Perhaps the key is to try to work out if he really does believe that the election was stolen and it truly was a landslide in his favour - i.e. he is genuinely deluded, or he keeps claiming this because it fits the self image he persistingly projects because it works for him as a way of living - or rather of getting other people to feel afraid or him and submit. The scenes inside the Capitol building were disgraceful......a handful of security guards waving batons around as the mob just stampeded their way past them. Lots more scenes like that were getting uploaded to sm last night but many have been taken down now. From comments I heard on the news bulletins late last night and this morning, rather than a left vs right it's more a case of Rep against Rep as it's totally split the party.
