CAMC make a point of having no age discounts of any sort.
Thanks @hja I thought as much but @the clampits seemed to imply otherwise in the previous post hence my asking.
I have also searched the CMC website to no avail!

We get the ACR discount with CCC, but not CMC, still a year to go.
@the clampits What are the details for the CMC ACR please?
We are now both ACR and Veteran members of the CCC but I've never heard of an ACR with the CMC.

Den,
I received my January 2024 magazine at the beginning of December and the February 2024 magazine is due in the shops next week.
https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/news/dont-miss-the-february-2024-issue-of-mmm
If you are missing the January copy then try phoning Warners next week.

Honda has found a solution, not cheap but probably cheaper then repairing the damage caused!

Hi HJA
I’ve been aware that the club offer discounts for OAP’s but I’ve not noticed it the booking system. I tend to book by phone but I did look on the app after reading you reply.
Is there a section I should look forthanks
Dennis
Den,
With the C&CC you get Age Concession Rates when you are over 60. Look for ACR on the booking form.
Or if you have completed over 25 years of membership and one of the members receives a state pension you can apply to be a Veteran member

I believe modern car wiring uses a soy based insulation and this is why the rodents find it more attractive than the old plastic/PVC wiring which did not taste as good!

Most probably low battery voltage, especially as you said it 'took a little cranking'.
Can you charge the battery for at least 24 hours before trying to start next time?
-
Hi Peter,
If you opened the door and either the interior lights came on or one of the many computers came to life then this would explain the lower voltage reading at the starter battery.

The current asking-price of a 2008 Solano T710 is around £35, 000 - so there's plenty of incentive to carry out a visually acceptable repair.
With that kind of value surely it is worth looking at a professional repair.
@AndyB1 What is your approx location and maybe someone can suggest a repairers to al least get a quote?

So I need two covers that are 440 x 130 as I've seen advertised this allows for a 15 mm gap as Keith rightly says for air circulation,
would this be neccessary if using fridge on 240 volt only, we have just been away and the cold air coming in through the vents, you can feel the cupboards are really cold when you open them
Yes, the fridge relies on a flow of air over the external coils to function correctly.
If you can feel cold draughts around the cupboard joints then you need to look at the rear of the fridge to see if it has been correctly installed and sealed from the MH interior.

You have two options if DIY'ing the vent covers. If you only require them to close the vents in storage then you can completely cover the existing grilles with a plastic or metal sheet but if you intend to use the fridge with the covers in place you MUST leave the bottom one or louvres open for the fridge to function.
Dometic recommend fitting the covers when the ambient temperature is below something like 8 degrees C to restrict airflow and prevent overcooling (freezing) of the fridge.

Yes, disconnect them and make sure the removed terminals cannot come into contact with anything around them. Could you also find the split charge relay and/or fuse to disconnect the system at source?
-
That is a perfectly acceptable way to charge the starter battery.
Or do you have an always live cigarette lighter socket in the cab? If so then plug back into that, that is how I charge the starter battery on my Sprinter MH. No need to even lift the bonnet!

@rayc Can you post a screenshot or convert to a jpeg and post?

And it once again appears we are all talking amongst ourselves as the OP @paul evo hasn't logged on since posting his question on Friday.

Paul,
Are you sure a year 2000 Peugeot Boxer 1.9TD is Euro 4?
The reason I ask is Euro 3 was for vehicles registered around 2000 to 2001
and Euro 4 was not introduced until 2005 to 2006
and I very much doubt that Peugeot were that far ahead of the game!
And your year 2000 may actually only be Euro 2!

The Owners Handbook for a 2024 model states 60 kg so your 2017 should be very similar. Do you not have the Owners Handbook for your model?

Brian,
The Sprinter and Crafter used to be one and the same, much like all the Sevel variants, but since the split of VW and MB in 2016 they have been unique designs.
Here is a not too recent article on the differences https://www.vansdirect.co.uk/blognews/vw-crafter-vs-mercedes-sprinter-what-are-the-differences/

It would also be worth checking that the wheel nuts or bolts on the alloy wheels are suitable for the steel wheels. They may have a different head shape, ie cone or ball seat, or if bolts require a different length to prevent damage inside the wheel hub.

Wildax Europa Renault Master base 2019 (used to be on my profile but seems to have disappeared?)
Add a 'Signature' with your vehicle details then 👍

@arthur49 What is the base vehicle and year of your MH?
Someone may be able to suggest a better place to obtain a D+ signal if you told us.

Ducato Battery life?

I agree with others here, if you're doubting how long it will last then now is the time to replace it!
Think about it, you can decide on a suitable make and size of battery then find the best price and have it delivered and fitted at your leisure rather than when stranded on the side of the road in a blizzard and be at the mercy of a breakdown service!
