use 70 deaths to make party political capital.

You are doing that yourself but don't seem to realise it.

The Royal Borough has been Tory continuously since 1964 - before Grenfell Tower got on to the drawing board.

So may I ask you the same question I asked Antony because it seems he can't answer it.

How can we comment on Grenfell Tower without making party political capital?

You haven't blamed the Queen yet? *-) ..........

So you are evading the question as well.

You are the one trying to make political capital by blaming Blair - but even that comes back to the Royal Tory Borough because he transferred responsibility for fire inspections to them.

You can't answer my question, but I'll answer yours.

No, you can't blame the Queen because you can't find out anything she doesn't want you to know because she is protected by the Official Secrets Act etc,. All we get is the sh*te put out by her spin doctors.

And she won't give interviews or answer questions - just like you.

You really are a deluded old loony lefty aren't you Peter :D .........

Hi,

I caught a bit about Grenvill, on the TV news this morning. Oh dear ... there's going to be tears before bedtime. LOTS of people hadn't done LOTS of things for a LONG time. Once upon a time, public servants used to worry about losing their pensions. What do they worry about now?

In the 1980s I had a lot of work done on my house, paid for with a council grant. That was a pantomime in itseff ... I dragged my Councillor out of his bath to sign a note saying that I was delivering my application to the Council Offices after office hours, but still before midnight on the last day for submission. I got my grant, but strangely they were approved in the order of submission, not in the order of application. Lesson learned ... get a spare set of forms ready for submission before the council send out the genuine article.

Whatever, when the BCO was due to make his final visit, my builder suggested that it would be a good idea if I took my two GSDs for a long walk. I didn't enquire why ... but I could guess.

I feel it likely that Firemen would be pretty pedantic about fire safety regulations ... I mean, it might be them who have to risk their lives if things turn nasty. Not so, the man in a suit.

<<< Looks like the fire service advice did nothing to preserve life ...>>>

Hi Anthony,

I'm guessing that was good advice. I understand that the fire brigade had extinguished the fire they were fighting, and were preparing to go home .... when somebody mentioned there was a fire outside, where a fire shouldn't have been. From then on, it was an unstoppable disaster.

In chronological order, blame whoever chose to build tower blocks, then blame whoever decided NOT to build it in non-combustible bricks/concrete blocks. Finally, blame whoever filled their flats with combustible furnishings.

Having sorted out all the reasons why there could be a fire, start asking why it couldn't be controlled.

Grenfell Tower should not have burned ... but it did.

What scares me is that men in suits will get the job of making sure it doesn't happen again ... accepting the lowest bid.

Antony's problem with that is in this case they are all Tories.

And have been since 1964 before Grenfell Tower got on to the drawing board.

So he has to keep searching in vain for non-Tories to blame, whilst he accuses others of trying to make political capital out of it *-)

But even when he finds one (Tory Blair who claims not to be a Tory) it still backfires on Antony because Blair transferred responsibility for fire inspections at Grenfell to the Tories in the Royal Borough.

So did he not transfer the responsibility to Labour councils as well? *-) ............

BTW Blair was/is Labour and part of your baggage that will haunt you socialists for ever >:-) .........

The UK has far more than 83 high rises. And the ones outside the Royal Tory Borough are not like Grenfell.
