It's early for me Dave but I'm struggling to see where your Brexit good news story is here. Please enlighten me in your best Dave Pelmet world viewpoint

No "you" wouldn't.........Where as I see it as another example of just how important little Ol Britain is to the world economy >:-) ...........

Kinda proves the big companies need "us" consumers more than we need them don't you think? ;-) ...........

I have read it three times over Dave and all I find is the argument that uncertainty over Brexit is bad for business and that there are fears that Brexit may result in a global economic downturn. It seems that Britain being "important to the world economy" matters to you more than our economic prosperity.

So your another one who's taken in by Remoaner scaremongering............Big business cares only for its bottom line *-) ..........

If Brexit means Nike has a bad year, then tough........It wont affect me cause I ain't dumb enough to buy overpriced trainers >:-) ..........

So you and the Brexiteers are to be part of the cause of a global downturn just when the world economy is booming and you still think it's good news. Right when you were hoping for trade deals Brexit is going to damage everyone's economy but of course our own the most and you don't think this will effect you because you don't buy Nike trainers. I honestly think your just having a laugh Dave.

Anyway I wouldn't get too excited just yet as it seems your in a very tiny majority that are still in Brexit la la land. Brexit is no longer "The will of the people". Perhaps it's just "The will of the Purple" now. (lol)

Don't be silly now. As a reminder here is the question you asked;

"BTW how many Nike factories are there in the UK?.....,,,,,,,Zilch? Zerro? or Nada?"

Without first checking you incorrectly assumed there was none. I found from Nikes own website there are actually two employing 96 people and now i've shown that you are just being flippant and dismissive.

96 people you obviously don't give a flying fig about if their jobs suffer due to Brexit.

Just for your benefit I tried again and despite showing workers the bottom graph still shows

0 facilities and 0% manufacture so please would you explain how that is a factory especially as in the past you have claimed that the UK does not make any cars despite there being factories and materials.?

Hi,

We had a referendum ... one man one vote. Only it seems Scotland thinks it had a special "trump" vote, and apparently the IRA gave their special "proxy" vote to the Remoaners....the Remoaners are threatening us with terrorism if we don't do as we are told. That's one way of running a country, I suppose.

I voted in the referendum in the belief that WHATEVER the decision, the country would act as one, to make it happen. Yes I was niaive.

The UK still is part of the UK, has been for 40 odd years. I have never travelled to France without having to show my passport. On occasions, it was my car that they directed into the Security channel. I've driven past armed guards in Calais. I've spent 24 hours on Poole jetty, because of a French Civil Service strike. I've been challenged by a French Customs bloke on a motorbike, about 100 miles from Calais, (as I was leaving ... had to explain why, if I was heading from Dinan to Swansea, I didn't sail from St.Malo ... the tunnel was quicker and cheaper). Do other border crossings have Customs officers cruising the roads around the inland border crossings?

We opened a French bank account. We never met a French bank official that had even a smattering of English, although the market traders seemed able to converse with us. We found it impossible to close that bank account ... we still have €8 sitting in a French bank.

What is the cost of a UK passport? What is the cost of a French ID card?

If there is a market for Nike shoes, or posh coffee, or WHY, the potential market will remain after Brexit. The Remoaners seem to believe that the UK entreprenuers will be unable to meet that demand. I suspect they may be right, seeing as they have brainwashed/threatened the public. But that will change.

The EU want growth. But you cannot keep growing for ever. Eventually you will become "pot bound". Brexit should be regarded as a natural re-adjustment. Others WILL follow.

Economic growth in Euroworld slowing ... https://www.cityindex.co.uk/market-analysis/corporate-results-in-focus-euro-steady-despite-eurozone-economy-slowing/ ... Cant be ... I thought it never slowed just carried on growing

Who on here or elsewhere has said that the eurozone economy would always grow? I don’t get why you and Dave seem to believe that bad news about signs of an economic down turn, whether inside or outside the eurozone, is a sign that Brexit is a good idea. Isn’t it more likely that there are signs that it is a thoroughly bad idea? If we Brits could load ourselves into spaceships and colonise Mars then we may be able to protect ourselves from any adverse consequences. Maybe Dave could convert Horace into one. ;-)

It's what you quite obviously implied when you made the comment on the article in your link. A device you use rather often when you have no evidence in support.

It's what you think I implied Veronica ... Really quite different to your "obviously implied" line ... Instead of guessing why don't you ask

Because I doubt I would get an answer that is not full of obfuscation Antony. You're very smart despite your pretensions to being just an "ordinary bloke just sitting on a roof" gambit.

From your link

"Economic growth in the eurozone slowed to 0.3% quarter on quarter, the slowest pace of growth in 2 years for Q2. Whilst this is just a flash estimate and there is no information on the composition of growth, we can comfortably assume that weaker global trade played a large role in the slowdown. The export led boom of 2017, is not repeating itself this year as trade tensions unsettle business and have resulted in fewer exports. "

So there was a global economic boom around the time of the referendum. Everyone except us did well. Trump and his trade war has caused the Eurozone to slow down and the economic world boom has slowed adding to that slow down. The world boom in 2016 was the only reason the so called "Project Fear" recession was narrowly avoided while the Euro zone stormed ahead. We went from the top to the bottom of the growth league because of Brexit yet you and some of the other Jihadi Brexiteers on here still think Brexit is a good idea and even worse, a no deal Brexit.

We hear today how business is booming in financial services mainly with trade to the EU and how a no deal will crucify that.

You couldnt make it up, you really couldnt.

Why? Just why?

Day 243.........

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/news/article-6002877/Americas-firms-warn-investors-Brexit-piling-pressure-Number-10.html

Oh dear >:-) .............

BTW how many Nike factories are there in the UK?.....,,,,,,,Zilch? Zerro? or Nada? :D ............

Two.....with 96 workers.

Strange the chart shows 0 facilities and 0% manufacture ?

Try again;

http://manufacturingmap.nikeinc.com/

When page opens, look at box on top right of page > "choose country" > scroll to United Kingdom and hit 'enter'.

It's on there.

Sorry bullet but you are wrong Nike do not have factories in the UK they use Frontline Image a screen print contractor who print for many companies and Middlemiss Embroidery the name tells you what they do and they are also a contractor for many other companies. So Dave was correct. Nike are only a customer.

Wasn't she great ...

... Lordy she'd kick the EUs ar4e ... xxxx

Nicely edited by a Pro Brexit bunch of morons. Thatcher created the Single Market. I agree with you though, she did kick arse. A proper leader who was respected and feared across the globe. Dont forget that it was her and those that followed that made sure we had the best deal out of any of the EU countries with more opt outs than any of the others including any further federalisation and the Brexiteers want to throw that all away, for what exactly?
