He was a successful businessman , thats why he was paid big dollars to present the successful TV show he did ... You'll know best though ... Regarding your other point has the lady in question reported the incident to the fuzz or did it just go straight to print when the time suited ???

Now I'm prepared to be corrected here, because I have done no research at all, just relying on what I've read/heard. But I believe it was his dad who was the successful businessman, and The Donald has actually reduced the value of what he inherited.

As to hosting a successful TV show, well, so did Jimmy Saville. It's not a guide as to what might make a successful political leader.

His father was the successful businessman so Trumps wealth is primarily inherited. He's a narcissistic illusionist who creates fantasy and convinces others to believe because he thinks he's God....hence his sycophantic followers who hang on his every word prostrating themselves before him. Reading through some of the inane remarks in this thread is indicative of that! Comical if they weren't so sad!

Trump often claims to be worth around $10 billion but is way off the mark as reality checks show it to be closer to a quarter of that amount. But this is all part of the illusion and boastful over bloated pretence he relishes in selling to the gullible.

His business enterprises have a notorious reputation leaving a trail of many ongoing lawsuits. At the time he took office the number of lawsuits he'd been involved in were estimated at a staggering 3,500! Here are a few; https://www.cheatsheet.com/money-career/trump-involved-lawsuits-these-most-important.html/?a=viewall

His infamous Trump University was a farcical disgrace and outright scam. https://www.newyorker.com/news/john-cassidy/trump-university-its-worse-than-you-think

It's also worth remembering the labour force he used to build Trump Tower.....undocumented Polish builders on below average pay working 12 hour shifts without safety wear. Wealthy Americans don't like paying union wage rates....they want cheap labour! Oh the irony! Trump continually denied ever employing Polish workers for 36 years before it went to court and claimed he 'didn't know' and 'couldn't remember'!! But the man he turned to to ask for help certainly remembered! Labour consultant Dan Sullivan who put it more bluntly in 1990 to People magazine. "It was disgusting how he used people," Sullivan said. "I said, 'Don't exploit them like that. Don't try to f-ck these poor souls over.' It baffled me then, and it makes me sick even now that he knowingly had these Poles there for the purpose of Trump Tower at starvation wages. He couldn't give a sh-t because he's Donald Trump and everybody is here to serve him. Over time he became more and more monstrous and arrogant. I asked myself, 'How long is it going to take for all of this to catch up with him?"

And let's not forget the Atlantic City casino which went bankrupt......i mean FGS who else but Trump could make a casino go bankrupt?!! Needless to say though he wormed his way out of that leaving a wake of destruction behind. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/12/nyregion/donald-trump-atlantic-city.html

I think you forgot to answer my question regarding the lady who says POTUS Trump assaulted her.

She'd have more luck with the CIA than "the fuzz" as you call 'em.Trump vigorously denies the story and later attacked Stoynoff on the campaign trail, saying, “She lies! Look at her, I don’t think so.”

If the politicians in the U.S. had been doing a good job ( for everybody ) in the past - Trump wouldn't be president.

( Reminds me of Brexit )

Quite likely on the money there Malc.  However as Trump did get in one of his first promises was to shake up the Washington elite.....and he has most certainly done that.

But how is the self-proclaimed billionaire (although some say he's "only" a multi-millionaire), any less of an "elite"? :-S

.. especially as there are accusations from many that his recent pay reforms benefit the very well off...? :-S

As for "..shake up Washington..." , well if conducting oneself like an uncouth bully boy and tweeting like an illiterate 11 year old, equates to him shaking up Washington, it's it bit of *sad state of affairs.

(* or should that be- " VERY SAD!" ? *-) )

Ive tweeted him but he is busy saving the world so he might reply late afternoon ... Seriously like me POTUS Trump is prolly too busy working out why it took Natasha Stoynoff 12 years to report the alleged attack to the police , sorry not report it to the police but to the press ... You could ask that question for the majority of the recent spate of sexual assault allegations that have suddenly come to light both in the USA and here where celebrities or powerful people are involved. There has been something of a Witch hunt here and I am sure some of it will be fabricated or false with a variety of motives but probably not all and the more powerful someone is the less likely a victim will come forward especially if they are on their own or unlikely to be taken seriously.

Most of the stuff we are seeing where people are now coming forward they have sat on it for years. Doesn't mean it didn't happen nor does it mean it did either. Most of the Jimi Saville cases were much older than 12 years so do we discount all of them as well?

Not saying Trump is guilty of anything. He might not be but I Wouldnt bet my life savings on it. Proving such a thing against someone as powerful and well protected as him is another matter of course.

RogerC - 2018-01-15 4:39 PM...However as Trump did get in one of his first promises was to shake up the Washington elite.....and he has most certainly done that.

But how is the self-proclaimed billionaire (although some say he's "only" a multi-millionaire), any less of an "elite"? :-S .. especially as there are accusations from many that his recent pay reforms benefit the very well off...? :-S As for "..shake up Washington..." , well if conducting oneself like an uncouth bully boy and tweeting like an illiterate 11 year old, equates to him shaking up Washington, it's it bit of *sad state of affairs.(* or should that be- " VERY SAD!" ? *-) )

Who cares.  That Trump, because of his financial standing is one of the 'elite' is irrelevant in this context.  You are clouding the issue which I said was Trump promised to shake up the 'Washington elite' and that he has most certainly done.  Now if you need it explained as to exactly what he meant by 'Washington elite' please do some research yourself because to me and likely millions of others his intent was perfectly clear.

As for illiterate 11yr olds.....surely if illiterate one is unable to read, write, spell?  So once again your point is?

a) He is part of the multimillionaire "elite", and as he is now "POTUS", he is by default now part of the "Multimillionaire political elite" .. and I will repeat, if shaking up Washington means behaving like an uncouth, inarticulate, embarrassing , bully boy, how can that be a good thing? (although I can see how that would appeal to some).Either way, he's not shaking up anything for any reason, other than for his own ego. He and the likes of Farage come from the same type of mould; These millionaires play their anti-establishment, man of people cards and people still, fall for it. When in truth they are a part the establishment, and for years they've had the *noses pressed up hard against glass of "the inner circles" just pinning to be let in.....(* and in Farage's case, also in the EU expenses trough).b) Granted my "tweeting like an illiterate 11year old.." line was clearly incorrect, it should have perhaps been "tweeting like an immature and poorly researched 11 year old", as most of them seem at best childish and at worst, just plain incorrect..(let's not lose sight of the fact that this is The President of the United States of America "Tweeting", he's not some ex-Big Brother contestant....yet).There, I hope my point is now clear enough ;-)

Yes your point is quite clear and understood regarding Trump tweeting.  I can't see the need for 'Tw4tter' other than as a vehicle for the 'youf' of today to get their word out so Trump using it is IMO quite juvenile irrespective of his subject.

However being one for understanding correctly there is one statement I don't accept.

During the run up to the White House Trump said he was going to shake up the 'Washington elite'.  By that he meant the 'political establishment' that had, in his eyes and likely in the eyes of millions of others, had their own way for far too long.  I don't recall anything about millionaire elite in his ambition statements, he was simply appealing to the average Joe by stating that if elected he would put an end to the 'self serving, comfortable existence' of a great many 'career Washington politicos and their offices'.  As not all Washington politicos/advisers/researchers/lobbyists are millionaires I reckon the amount one earns in this case is an irrelevance.

Like the guy or not he has most certainly done what he said he would.

Panorama last night......about Trump voters one year on. 24 year old Muslim guy (Trump supporter) with own business flogging hoverboards. Proudly shows the boards he sells, "if these were made in America it would cost $200 but i buy them from China and they cost me $20".

Classic!! (lol)(lol)

Plain , incorrect and poorly researched Tweets from the countries top dog ... Sounds a bit like Canadian PM Justin Trudeau tweeting his anger at the attack on an 11 year old girl Muslim girl who claimed she had been attacked and had her hijab cut with scissors by the attacker ... http://www.westmonster.com/canadian-police-dispute-claim-that-11-year-old-had-hijab-cut-did-not-happen/ ... In reality in his attempt to condemn he became part of a big lie that was maybe meant to show hatred towards Muslims ... Gosh I see what you mean
